Alphabet Letter Sound Sort

Today, we’re going to sort letter sounds! The sort is in your red literacy folder but if you can’t find it, here’s the link: https://www.prekinders.com/pdf/LetterSoundsBW.pdf I have a few extra copies at home, so send a Remind or Dojo message, and I’ll mail it to you.

Here’s a Leap Frog video to review the letter sounds:

Ready to sort??

Send me a picture of you sorting the letter sounds or the items you found around the house. 🙂

The Mystery Letter

Can you guess the mystery letter?

Watch Jack Hartmann’s video about the mystery letter! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RWbvHZBmrqk&t=167s

Now practice printing, coloring, drawing, making the letter Oo using playdough or yarn! How many objects can you fin in your house that start with the letter Oo? Let’s see who can find the most objects. Send me the pictures, and I’l post them at the end of the week.

**If you don’t have playdough at home, here is a very easy recipe that doesn’t need tartar or alum: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WR0-IniKTOw

Journal Writing

Please remember to write everyday. You can choose your own topic to write about. You can write about your favorite toy, game, character, sport, or birthday. You can write about what you saw outside, at the store, or on television. All you need is a sheet of paper or notebook, pencil, and crayons. Watch the video below to learn the letter sounds:

Here’s the alphabet chart we use in class:

Remember to share your writing with me in ClassDojo!!

Shapes Scavenger Hunt

Today’s activity is to try and find these shapes in your house or outside! Before you get started, watch this Jack Hartmann video:

Here are some shapes I found around my house:

Draw them on a sheet of paper, and try to spell them as a challenge!
