Hello all!
I hope you’re all staying focused on your learning and on top of your assigned work! I noticed many of you are doing an AMAZING JOB with keeping up with your math assignments, exit tickets, quizzes, etc. I am very proud of you!! For the students who are behind and need to catch up, please do so as soon as possible. Everything we do is graded and will affect your final grade for card marking four and the year-end math grade!
Additionally, I am working hard as well…attending virtual meetings, updating the gradebook, making parent/student phone calls, sending emails, checking assigned work, etc. I am also testing some attendance takers with Ms. McCarthy in Google Meet to help streamline our video lesson attendance taking. Work on Lessons 16-17 content in Khan and IXL (Y’s) today and/or on getting done with your iReady Lessons. I am planning a Lesson 16 Quiz for you tomorrow during our Google Video MEET at 3. Be prepared and ready to go.🙂 Stay safe and healthy!
April 15, 2020:
Google Video Meet Lesson Today @ 3pm. Check Google Classroom at 2:50 for the code. Be on time and prepared to work with paper and pencil! You need to be focused and on task during the entire lesson. There is an exit quiz after the lesson is completed.
Make sure that you go over your responses for the previous Exit Tickets in Google Classroom so that you can get a sense of what it is you still do not understand. I will answer questions at the end of the lesson.
All students who are not completing assigned weekly work will be getting a phone call home from me this week. You should be working on completing all your iReady Pathway Lessons as well as teacher assigned ones. Lessons should be COMPLETED and PASSED. You should also complete past due Khan assignments, IXL, and Google Classroom exit tickets/quizzes. All assigned work is graded!
**GradeBook will be updated again tonight. EVERYTHING YOU DO COUNTS!**
April 13, 2020–Post Lesson Recap
Great lesson today, guys! I noticed more students signed in on time but some were late. Most of you did a better job listening, focusing, participating, and muting your microphones as directed. Let your friends who didn’t sign in to our class meeting know that our next meeting is Wednesday from 3 to 4. These meetings are mandatory and all assigned work will be graded and input into the gradebook.
Please be sure you complete the assigned exit tickets–IXL-Y.11 and Y.15 by tonight. They are each worth 20 points and will be counted as quiz grades.
Khan-We talked about completing assigned Khan assignments (past due-April 5) that go with this lesson. These have already been assigned in the past and are review, so you should be able to complete them without any issues. Watch the videos for more help. Mastery is the goal!
iReady-You also need to complete assigned iReady Lessons that go with Lessons 16 and 17 as well this week. Once finished you can work on your Pathway. I will input the grades in the gradebook for assigned work. You should have passed at least 24 lessons by the end of this week!
IXL: Section Y, Section E, Section T, and Section Z all have to do with this material we will be learning this week. Specifically: Y1 through Y17, E12, T10, & Z3-New!
If you or someone you know does not have computer access or internet access, please let me know ASAP!! I will get in touch with someone who can help them.

I will post the Meet Code on Google Classroom and email you at 2:50. Please be prepared with pencil and paper. I have noticed from our Exit Tickets and Lesson #17 quiz that many of you are still struggling a lot with the skills. Also, I will answer any questions you have as well.
Recommendations/Assigned Work Completion:
1. Make sure you are caught up on your iReady Lessons and Quizzes–Minimum 18 or more lessons should have been already completed. They are past due if you haven’t done all of them yet!
2. iReady–I will be reassigning some iReady assignments and some new ones that need to be completed this upcoming week of April 13-April 18 (6 total assignments). I have noticed too many students are still struggling with Order of Operations, Equivalent Expressions, and Algebraic Expressions. You can work on your Pathway Mission after you complete these 6 assignments.
3. Khan Academy–Make sure you are caught up on the Khan Academy assignments that I assigned before break. Many of you haven’t completed them. They are now under the “Past Due” assignments. Please finish them asap! They should be done before our class Google Meet. I will put the Khan assignments in the Gradebook this week. Also, focus on completing your Khan Mission.
4. Please make sure to check my iBlog, Google Classroom, School email, and Remind for announcements, updates, and coursework. I have updated the Gradebook based on what you have completed so far. I will update the Gradebook again at the end of the week as assignments, lessons, and quizzes are completed.
5. Lastly, focus on finishing your IXL Mission as well once you are caught up and finished with your iReady Pathway Lessons/Quizzes and Khan Assignments. I will see you tomorrow inshallah for the Google Hangout Meet at 3:00!

All students MUST be completing ALL WORK. It is required by our school. If you do not have access to a computer, please email me immediately! I will be reporting students that are not completing their work to Mrs. Younes, Mr. Bazzi, and Ms. Fawaz.
This week:
Today: Work on Khan Mission. I will assign the things that we will be learning on Wednesday. You may try them in advance. Go to my Google Classroom and read the Lesson 17 notes. Comment on the post that you have read the notes when you are finished.

Wednesday: Online Class from 3:00pm-4:00pm. I will be holding a virtual lesson on Google Meet for all of the math classes. I will post the code to the chat right before it is time to start. I will be TAKING ATTENDANCE and recording students that do not attend. I will be teaching Lesson 17 from the book, providing practice problems, and requiring an exit ticket and follow up quiz.
During the Meet, all students must be MUTED. You will be listening to and watching the lesson for approximately 20 minutes. Then, you will get to practice on your own.
