Busy day!  Today your child is bringing home an orange folder made from construction paper.  Your child labeled it “Social Studies Review”.  It has a study guide to review and return on Thursday.  Also it has items that your child has been studying.  We do not have a social studies book, so these items need to be reviewed.  Items that your child has completed to review include:  My Different Kinds of Communities Book, Why Do People Live in Communities Book, Is it a Human or Natural Characteristic worksheet, and 3 Types of Communites Sort.

Today we checked the Science Review and placed it back into the Everyday folder to review for Wednesday.  They did a great job on the Review!

Your child is bringing home the reading log for the week that is due on Thursday, Nov.7.

The Science Review on plants and the science book that was sent home yesterday are due on Monday.  We have been observing our own plants. Each child planted radishes or beans.  We are watching the life cycle.  We observed the seeds, and now we are beginning to observe them growing!

We are all set for the Halloween Party.  Thanks to all of you who volunteered to send items in. The students may not wear or bring costumes tomorrow, but they may want to wear orange and/or black to school.

Reminders:  Tomorrow the chapter 2 Math Review is due.  Also it is Thursday, so the reading log is due.  Students who turn it in will be given the Pizza Hut pizza coupon for the month of October!

You are welcome to stop by our Halloween Party tomorrow from 2:45-3:30.

Today your child is bringing home the math Ch. 2 Review.  It is due this  Thursday, Oct.31.  Please have your child complete and review it with your child.  The math test will be this Friday.

Thank you for your help with the Halloween Party.  We have one baked good item and one student bringing cut-up fruit, but we have an opening for another baked item and cut-up fruit.  The other items are all set!

Mrs.Beauchamp and Ms. Allen have been busy planning for the class Halloween Party on Thursday, Oct. 31 from 2:45-3:30.  They have posted a sign up sheet for items outside my room.  You may email me if you can bring something, send in a note, or sign the sheet by our classroom.  The items needed are:  baked goods, cut-up fruit, plates and napkins, juice boxes.  Please send in enough for 24 people. Thank you!

Tomorrow your child’s spelling city practice test is due.

Today your child is bringing home another reading log.  Please be sure that your child reads daily 20 minutes at minimum.  Sign the log to verify the reading before your child turns in it.

Thank you if you have turned in an envelope for the holiday basket.  Mrs. Beauchamp and Ms. Allen would like them turned in by October 18 if possible.

We are still short a few paper towel rolls if you have some to turn in.

Next week there will not be a new spelling list due to the Dearborn School break.

Today your child is bringing home directions for a community project that is due Thursday, October 17.

In addition, your child is bringing home a reading log.  Your child should be reading a minimum of 20 minutes a day.  The log is due next Thursday.  At the end of the month, your child will earn a pizza as a reward for the Pizza Hut Book It Program.The log should be signed by the parent to verify your child’s reading.

Thanks to Mrs.Beauchamp and Ms. Allen for doing the holiday basket for the boutique.    They have asked for the donations and items to be turned in by October 18.

We still need paper towel rolls.

Today your child is bringing home the math chapter 1 review.  Please have your child complete it independently, then go over it with  your child.  If your child needs additional practice on the number grid for example, you could make up some additional problems and your child could play the number grid game online.  Please sign the review so that I  know that your child shared it with you.  It is due on Friday.  We will check and review it as a class, and the test will be on Monday, Oct.  7.  Provide additional practice counting money and reading the clock by the hour and half hour.

Please continue to send in paper towel rolls if you have some even if you sent one in before because some children still don’t have one.

Week 4 words are on SpellingCity for review.  Practice test from home is due Friday.
