Today your child brought home Unit 6 Social Studies Study Guide.  It is due on Tuesday, June 3.  The district test will be online on Wed. , June 4.  Please review it with your child.  It is the last social studies test of the year.  Enjoy your weekend.

Your child brought home a note about study island today with the username and password attached.  Please put that information in a safe place.  Many parents have asked about skills to work on this summer.  The study island provides language arts and math skills that need to be reviewed over the summer to maintain skills for third grade.  Today I have an assignment for your child to complete three tests in language arts and three in math.  The site will be down the the 31st of May and June 1 only.  This summer I will open up all the language arts and math to be reviewed.    In addition to the mastery tests there are games and there are worksheets that can be printed also for extra practice.

We are studying mixtures in Science.  A mixture is made by two or more different things.  Each piece is the same as it was before it was mixed.  For example, strawberries and blueberries or cheerios and chex.  Please send in a mixture for snack on Thursday and/or Friday so that we can discuss  mixtures.  Thanks.

Today we had fun in science identifying properties of matter.  Thanks again to the families that donated items for us.

Tomorrow is the field trip.  We have 8 parent volunteers  Thanks in advance for sharing your day with us.  We will all ride on the bus.  Please be here by 9..  We will eat our snacks when we return and we will have lunch at school too.

Spelling test tomorrow as it is the last day of this week.  Spelling City is available to help study but does not need to be turned in.

Your child is bringing home the ch. 10 review.  Please review with your child and return it signed on May 21.  The test will be May 21 also.

This is a reminder to study the vocabulary and key ideas by reviewing the Social Studies Review that needs to be completed, signed, and returned tomorrow for the district online test.  Also Spelling Test 30/31 will be tomorrow. The words are on Spelling City.

Today your child is bringing home a note about our last field trip for the year.  It will be at the Dearborn Historical Museum.  There is a $5 fee for the students only.  Please let me know if you are interested in being a chaperone.

I asked for some volunteers for donations for items for science next week.  Thanks in advance for the donations.  Also, we are using our last pack of paper.  If you have loose leaf paper that you would like to donate,  it would be appreciated.

Finally, this is a reminder that the reading log and summary are due tomorrow, May 15.

Today your child is bringing home an after reading summary.  List the books read and the dates on the back.  Please have your child choose a book or chapter after reading, then complete.  We will begin the DRA testing next week.  Students are expected to complete a summary for the reading selection.

Remember tomorrow is the spelling post test for lessons 29 and 30.   Your child may practice the words on spelling city.

Tomorrow the Publishing Center Books will be displayed in the media center.  Your child will then have an opportunity to read his/her book to the class, then I will send it home.

Our publishing center books are looking great with terrific stories and interesting illustrations.  Many students finished their covers and illustrations today in class.  Some students are bringing their book home today to finish the illustrations.   Please return tomorrow or no later than Thursday, May 8.

The students are studying Spelling Words for Week 29 and 30 this week as listed on Spelling City.
