See you at Open House 6-7:30 today.

I’m looking forward to seeing you at Open House tonight ! Today your child brought home a reading log attached to the middle of their Everyday Folder.  Please keep it attached so that it does not get lost.  Your child should read at least 20 minutes each day.  I will collect the completed log on Thursdays, and attach a new one.  Your child should also be studying the spelling words each week.  Tomorrow is the Lesson 2 test.  The words are in your child’s folder and on Spelling City.  If your child did not return the smokehouse permission slip, please return in tomorrow.

Thank you to Hutaph Jadallah as she has volunteered to be a room parent. Please sign up tonight if you can also volunteer.  Thanks.

Thank you for subscribing.

Hopefully, everyone will have a chance to subscribe to our class blog by the end of the week by entering an email address;  Today your child brought home a note about our first field trip. Please get in a family picture if your child has not brought one in.  The community activity is due September 15.  Tomorrow is the first spelling test.  I hope your child has had a chance to do spelling city for practice.  In math today, we went to the website ABCYa.com and played the telling time game.  Please encourage your child to work on telling time by the hour, half hour, and quarter hour.  If you would like to send in some supplies, some ideas include:  band-aides, gallon size zipped bags and sandwich size zip-locked bags.  Thanks in advance for your donations.

Ideas for summer review

Thanks for all of your support this year.  I have enjoyed working with you and your child.  Please continue to have your child read this summer.  It would be great if you get a public library card and join one of the reading incentive program.  Have your child review the basic addition and subtraction facts.  Also work on the multiplication facts up to five.  In addition, get a notebook and encourage some writing!

There are many websites for review such as Spelling Island.  I sent home your child’s password and username earlier.  ( Your child has memorized the username as they use it in the computer lab.  The password is your child’s first name.)   I have opened up all the math practices (24 of them) and the language arts practices (31 of them).  Also you may continue to use spelling city and everyday math.  Other good websites include  ReadWorks.com and Mobymax.com.

Enjoy your summer!

Events for the last week of school

Monday we will be viewing Charlotte’s Web.  I read it to the class and we just finished it this week.  Please send in a healthy snack and lunch as usual.  You may send it a snack and drink for the movie as we will view it after lunch.

Tuesday is the PBIS Award and the students will receive popsicles.

Wednesday is Field Day and Relay for Life.

For Thursday  the class is earning ice cream sundaes!  Today we made a list of toppings and we had volunteers choose an item to bring in.  Thanks in advance for your help.

Enjoy the weekend!

May bring a drink for the afternoon.

Tomorrow please send in a healthy snack as usual and lunch as usual!

At the end of the day, the students will be having pizza as a reward for their behavior and as a reward for their reading for the Book IT each month this year.  The pizza will be provided, but your child may bring in a juice box or pop to drink.

Thanks!
