Your child is bringing home the Unit 5 study guide for the Math Test on Monday, January 26.  There are 2 parts:  one for Every Day Math and one DEC.  Your child was given class time to work on them.  They have not been checked.  Please go over both parts with your student so that you can see areas that may need more practice.  Please sign the study guide  and return with your child on Monday.  Thanks.

Today the new spelling words went home.  The students do not have school this Friday, so we will have the Week 17 post test on Monday, January 26.  The words are also on Spelling City to practice.  Thanks.

Today your child is bringing home a social studies study guide for the District Test on Tuesday, January 20.  Your child needs to know the big ideas studied in class and the all the vocabulary words for this unit.  Please help your child review and practice.  In addition, after completing the multiple choice section of the test in the computer lab, there will be a writing portion of the test that will be completed in the classroom.  The writing is taking a position and giving 3 reasons to support the opinion.  There is a writing practice for your child to complete also on the study guide.  Have your child return the completed study guide with a parent signature on Tuesday, January 20.

Please have your child complete Home Link 5.6 and return tomorrow.  Also please review for the land form test tomorrow and sign and return the study guide.  Thanks.

Today your child is bringing home link 5.5 to complete for tomorrow.  Continue studying the Landform and Bodies of Water study guide that was sent home last week for test this Wednesday.  Please have your child read at least 20 minutes daily.  Remember to use Raz Kids for reading.  Thanks.

Today your child brought home the study guide and landform model to help review and study for the test on Wednesday, January 14.  Please study with your child, then sign and return the study guide on the 14th.  Also,  home link 5.3 was sent home today to be returned on Monday.  In addition, please send in an item for our 3D shape museum if possible.  Thanks.

Hope you enjoyed the holiday break.  Today your child brought home a note about cursive.    I have also included the cursive alphabet so that you can have your child practice reading cursive with ease and fluency.  We will begin cursive instruction after this marking period is completed.

I will be out of school on Tuesday and Wednesday of this week as I will be attending a District Workshop both  days.  The workshop also meets on the following dates:  Jan. 28, Feb.12 and 25, and March 17.

The reading log is due Thursday, Jan. 8.

Today your child is bringing home a new reading log attached in the Everyday Folder.  It will be due on Thursday, January 8.  You may write on the back when the front is full.  Please encourage reading and basic fact practice over break.

Tomorrow will be a busy day!  The reading log is due and we will be having the Unit 4 Math Assessment tomorrow.  The district assessment has math  problems that ask the student to write about their thinking and strategy used.  Please go over those kinds of questions on the review.
