Concert songs, Homelink 7.1 Geometric Animal,Timeline

Today your child is bringing home the words for the music concert.  Please have your child practice and keep the words in a safe place.  Mrs. Baloga has a blog written on the back of the paper that you can go to for the music.

Please complete Homelink 7.1  and the Geometric Animal for tomorrow.  Be sure to go through the 2 dimensional and 3 dimensional shapes on the rubric to be sure all are included.

The timeline project was sent home on Friday, please turn in the botton3m portion of the note signed so that I know you received it.

I will be out tomorrow at a district meeting, but I will be back on Wednesday.

Hope the Social Studies Review is going well.  It is due on Wednesday and the District Test is on Wednesday.

Thanks!

Social Studies Review coming home today. Math review and reading log/summary due tomorrow.

Today your child is bringing home the Unit Social Studies Review about How Do Communities Change? Please help your child complete the review and sign it.  It needs to be studied, signed, and returned next Wednesday, March 11 as your child will be assessed in the computer lab for the District Test on the 11th.

Tomorrow is Thursday, so the reading log is due.  A summary sheet needs to be completed on the back of the reading log.

In addition, the Math Chapter 6 Review that was sent home last week is due tomorrow completed and signed as your child will be having the Chapter 6 Math Test tomorrow.

Wow!  We had an awesome classroom museum today.  The children enjoyed sharing their artifacts and learned some new things from each other.  Thank you for making it a success!  We had an old camera,  music box, keys, photograph, books, clock and many other neat artifacts!

Finally, your child has a March is Reading Month calendar attached in the Everyday Folder.   Please leave it attached and refer to it throughout the month.  The activities are for not required but are lots of fun!

Chapter 6 Unit Review to be completed for test on Thurs.,March 5. Classroom Museum is Wed., March 4.

Today your child is bringing home the Unit 6 math review.  There are two parts stapled together.  One is the Everyday Math Review and the other is the DEC Review.  The review was started in class, but needs to be completed and studied.  Have your child complete all, then go over it with your child to see areas of strengths and concerns.  Provide extra practice over concern areas.  Please sign the review and return it Thursday, March 5.  Do not send in early as it should be practiced.

We are looking forward to the Classroom Museum on Wed, March 4.  This is a reminder that your child should complete the form and bring in the item on March 4.

I will be out all day Tuesday, March 3 for a district related workshop and I will be back on Wednesday.

Have fun with the math ch. 6 review and exploring a piece of history for our museum.  Thanks.

Reading Log

Today your child is bringing home the reading log that is due next Thursday, March 5.  The reading log is the same one that we have been using, however, there is a summary form on the back.  We have been working on summaries in class, and it is an important skill.  On the summary sheet, your child needs to summarize one picture book or one chapter from a chapter book.  Listed on the side of the summary, are the items needed to include in each part.  In addition to working on reading skills, the written summary will provide more writing practice.  Have your child reread the writing to you and lead your child as needed to the correct capitalization, punctuation, spelling, etc.  Encourage your child to use the book as a resource to help spell some of the words needed.  Thank you!

Classroom Museum Project Coming Home Today! Spelling test.

We are studying history and we need your help!  Your child brought home a letter today describing the classroom artifact museum that we are having next Wed., March 4.  Please have your child bring in the item or picture of an item along with the artifact card that is at the bottom of the letter.  It needs to be completed in his/her best manuscript and in complete sentences.  They were really excited about it!  Have fun looking and learning about an artifact!

Spelling 21 test tomorrow. The words are on Spelling City!

I will be out in the morning for district business, but I will be here in the afternoon.

Thanks!

Homelink 6.10 and Sign Ch. 5 Math Tests

Today your child needs to complete 6.10 Homelink.  It is beginning division so your child needs to use counters  to divide into groups.  Also, I have sent home the two ch. 5 math tests so that you can see areas of strengths and areas that need more practice.  Please sign both tests (they are stapled together ) and return them to school tomorrow.  I asked for you to sign them as that allows me to know they made it home.  Thanks!

Homelink 6.9 and Smencils

Homelike 6.9 came home today.  Please have your child complete it and return it to school tomorrow.  Thanks.

This week there is a smencil sale for $1 for a fundraiser for PBIS.  If interested your child may buy a smencil all week at lunch.  (I’m sure your child can describe a smencil to you!)

Thank you!

Thanks for sending in items and/or for attending the Valentine Party to make it a success.  Thanks again to Mrs. Jadallah in supplying the materials and guiding the students in making their “love bugs”.

Thanks also for the Valentine cards and treats for the children and for me too.  In addition, thanks for the items for the classroom such at tissues, paper, dry erase markers.  They are all items that were needed and will be used.

Enjoy the break!

(P.S.:Good luck as you continue to collect items for the animal geometry project).
