Today your child brought home a folder made from red construction paper. It has the social studies review for the district test on Tuesday, April 28 and it has practice work that was completed in class to review. The test will be in the computer lab and there will be a short answer in the classroom. Please have your child complete and return with a parent signature on Tues, April 28.
Also your child brought home the completed Unit 8 Math Test for you to sign and return tomorrow.

Everyone was at school yesterday, so all students brought home the materials, board, and packet for the science boot camp project. After you label the cup and the test tubes with a permanent marker, don’t forget to put one nail in each test tube before you add a liquid.
Tomorrow is a Thursday, so the reading log and summary are due.

Today your child brought the Unit 9 Math Review. The DEC Review and the Every Day Math Review are stapled together. Your child was given time to work on it in class. Please go over it with your child and review. Have your child work on writing more details for the short answer math questions. Sign and return on Friday, April 24. The test will be that day too.
Spelling Week 28 words were also sent home today. They are also on Spelling City.
Tomorrow the second graders will be given the information, materials, and the Science Board for the Science Fair. It is a lot to carry, so your child may need some help bringing the materials home.

Today your child is bringing home link 8.6 home to complete and return tomorrow.
Today I will begin sending home a gallon plastic bag with the realistic fiction story your child has written for the Publishing Center Book. Check your child’s Every Day Folder. The book will be sent home when your child has completed the draft and revisions. I will send home the book with a few students each day during this week and hopefully finish next week. Please read the directions given and return the items back in the gallon plastic bag to keep the Bare Book clean and so items will not be lost.
The M-Step Testing has begun for the upper grades so there may be some schedule changes. We had gym this morning instead of tomorrow afternoon. Next week, gym will also be Tuesday morning instead of Wednesday afternoon. The Friday gym time will be the same.
Today your child brought home the Unit 8 Math Study Guide. The study guide is due on Thursday and the test will be on Thursday. Please check over and review the study guide with your child to see areas of strengths and weaknesses. Help your child with the short written response questions. Encourage them to be specific in their details. For example, don’t say I solved it up and down. For example, make statements like I first added the ones. I carried 2 tens, then I added the ten, etc..
