Today your child brought home the science book and study guide for our first science test.  The test is next Thursday, Nov.5 .  Please reread the chapter and complete the study guide.  Return it on Nov. 5 with a parent signature.  Today we did a sink and float investigation for science.

A new reading log was sent home today too!

We started working on the Unit 2 Math Study Guide today.  We will work on it in class again tomorrow, then I will send it home.  Look for the math study guide tomorrow.  The test will be Wed., Nov.4.

We are studying mixtures in Science.  A mixture is made up of two or more things and it can also be separated.  Some children brought in a mixture today for snack, such as carrots and celery, or two different kinds of cereal.  Please have your child bring in a mixture some time this week.

1.  Please send in your donation for the holiday basket.  The suggestion is $7  per student as the money earned goes to the school for the benefit of all students.The homeroom moms are working hard on putting together our Michigan State Basket for the Holiday Boutique and they need help from everyone. We have a little over half the class who have already turned a donation in  and the homeroom moms would like them all in by this Friday.  Thanks!

Today your child brought home the Chapter 1 District Test and the Chapter 1 Everyday Math Test. There is a grade on each.  Please go over the tests with your child and look at the items that need more practice.  The tests should be returned to school tomorrow with an adult signature so that I can verify that you had a chance to see them.

Spelling Week 5 is on Spelling CIty.  The post test is tomorrow.

Please review the social studies classwork and study guide sent home yesterday for the District Test on Tues, Oct. 27.

Today your child brought home a letter on blue paper about the Three  Kinds of Communities Project.  It describes the expectations and directions.  Attached to the letter is a grading sheet so you can see what is expected. It is due on Monday, November 2 as it takes some time to collect everything needed.

Please look for the Social Studies Test Information and Study Sheets tomorrow for the first District Social Studies Test.  Your student will be bringing home a letter on blue paper again tomorrow.  Attached to it will be the study guide sheets.  In addition, your child will be bringing home a folder made of construction paper with some things from class to be reviewed and studied.  Please review the study guide as well as the class items.  Please return the study guide on Tuesday, October 27th with a parent signature.

Just a reminder that the Dearborn community project is due Monday.   Your child picks one special place in Dearborn and writes and illustrates it on the form provided.  Please do a rough draft on a different sheet before doing the final copy on the sheet provided.  Please help your child edit for spelling, grammar, and punctuation.  They will be sharing and they will be hung up too!

Please continue to have your child read daily for 20 minutes!
