Monday, March 7 the artifact and the artifact card are due. It is a social studies grade for the history unit.
Reminders:
Today your child brought home a note about our classroom Artifact Museum. The letter explains it and the artifact card that needs to be completed is on the bottom of the letter. Please send in the artifact along with the sheet neatly completed in complete sentences by your child on Monday, March 7. It will be fun learning about the past by sharing our family artifacts!
Also your child brought home the Social Studies Unit 5 Study Guide. Please review the vocabulary and big ideas with your child. Sign and return on Tuesday, March 8. It is a District test that will be completed in the computer lab.
In addition a March reading calendar is attached in your child’s EveryDay Folder today. It has some fun activities. Please continue to have your child read at least 20 minutes each day. Continue to use the Raz Kids. Do not have your child listen to the selections. Have them READ a selection. Then take the quiz on the selection. If they do not know the answer of the question, have them click on the book. That will allow them to go back and reread to locate the answer. Then click on the quiz to continue taking the quiz. The comprehension quiz practice is an important skill for your child. Please have your child do at least one fictional story and quiz each week, and have your child do at least one informational selection and quiz each week.

Reminder that tomorrow the ch. 6 math study guides are due completed and signed by a parent. There are 2 study guides stapled together. Please look over your child’s work. A new concept is carrying with addition. Please be sure your child shows the work. Another new thing is borrowing with subtraction. Please check that your child has renamed the numbers correctly.
Today your child brought home Math Journal 1. It may stay home as we are now working in Math Journal 2. If your child brought home Journal 2, it does need to come back tomorrow.
Week 20 Spelling is on Spelling CIty and the test is Friday.
Please turn in the RSVP for the Leader In Me Parent night by Friday.

Today your child brought home the chapter 6 math study guide. We worked on in for two class periods. The DEC and Everyday Math Study guides are stapled together. Please have your child complete it tonight so that you can review tomorrow. Check over the computation as we are now regrouping when adding. Be sure that your child has shown how the tens were carried. Also, we are working on subtracting with borrowing. The work should be shown. Please sign and return on Thursday for the test.

Today your child is bringing home a letter about the Geometric Animal Project . Please read and return the bottom of portion of the letter so that I know you are aware of the project. The project is due on or before March 22.

Today your child brought home a Science book and a folder of things to study for the science test on Friday. Please study and return the book and study guide on Friday, Feb. 19.
Also, your child brought home the Chapter 5 Math Tests. There are two tests attached. One is the EveryDay Math Test and the other is the DEC Test. Please have your child do the problems missed correctly on another sheet of paper and attach it. Please sign and return the tests so that I know that you saw them.
In addition, your child has Week 19 words attached in the Everyday folder and Week 19 words are on Spelling City to practice.
The reading log is due tomorrow. Your child should be reading a minimum of 20 minutes daily. Keep using Prepdog and Raz Kids. They count on the reading log.

Thanks again for your generosity for the items sent in for the geometric project and the Valentine Party. We did the sorting geometric project this morning and we are looking forward to sharing Valentines and food this afternoon at 2:30. You are welcome to join us.

Today your child has a new reading log attached in the Everyday folder. It is due Wednesday, Feb. 17. Continue to have your child read daily at least 20 minutes. In addition, please utilize Raz Kids and Prep Dog.

Today your child is bringing home the report card, NWEA testing results and some work completed for the last marking. Everything can stay home, but please sign and return the envelope on Monday.
