All Publishing Center Bags have been sent home as of today! Publishing Center items and colored pencils due on Tuesday, April 12.

Today the last few students took home their Publishing Center Bags! As stated earlier on the blog, the bag contains a Barebook, About  the Author page with dedication page on the back of it, the story, and  directions.  There are a few students that just finished their stories and they did not have time to edit and revise with me, so you will need to edit and revise with your child before typing.

1.Please return the bag on Tuesday, April 12.  The barebooks should have the following items typed and pasted in it:  Title page, Dedication Page, Story, About the Author Page.

2.In addition, there needs to be another copy of the story in the bag.  That copy will be submitted for the Brainstormer story.  Also return their handwritten draft.

3.  Finally, please send in a box of colored pencils in the bag for your student to use on the cover and to do the illustrations.

4.  The Publishing Center Books will be on display in the media center on Friday, April 15.

Thanks for your support!  ENJOY the awesome stories and have fun typing!

P.S.  The science fair project should be started soon if it hasn’t been started.    Don’t forget to have your child do observations every 2-4 days or so.  Each observation should include a sentence about the water and nail.  Have your child be descriptive and write neatly.

Publishing Center Bags coming home today, Thursday, and Friday.

Your students are awesome authors!  I’m sure you will enjoy your child’s story! We have been working on adding voice to our stories by using dialogue, sound words, snapshots, thoughtshots, similes, and “suddenly”.  The bags coming home this week have a barebook, About the Author page with Dedication Page on the back of it, and directions.  Please return the bag on Tuesday, April 12  with the  title page, dedication page, story, and About the Author page typed and pasted in it.  Also return their original draft.  Please don’t send in the items without the bag.

In addition, return in the bag another copy of the story so that it may be submitted for the Brainstormer story.  I have edited the story with your child.  If words were added by me, they are words that your student dictated to me to add.

Also, please send in a box of colored pencils in the bag for your student to use on the cover and to do illustrations.

I am sending them home after I have had a chance to edit with your child and I can’t do them all in one day. 🙂 Some are still writing  their stories.

Thanks!  Happy Typing!
