Welcome back from the break!

I hope you have had a chance to see the second grade pictures posted on December 31.  There are 3 groups of them.  If you haven’t seen them,  please look back on December 31 for the three postings.  The wonderful pictures are from Elijah’s mom, Marie.  THANK YOU MARIE!!  If you would like to see more pictures from the holiday party or concert, you may contact her for more!

Today your student brought home the Chapter 4 math study guides for the Everyday Math and DEC stapled together.  Please complete, review, sign, and return on Thursday, Jan. 12.  We will do the Everyday Math Test on Thursday and the DEC on Friday.

Spelling Week 15 is available to study on Spelling City.

We will be taking the NWEA math test next week and the NWEA reading test the week of Jan. 23.  Please have your child work on Prepdog.  We worked on it yesterday in the computer lab.  Please do Second Grade Basic Test 5 for Reading, Math, and Language.

Thank you to our awesome homeroom moms!  We had a wonderful holiday party!  It was amazing all the things we did…….bean bag toss, cookie decorating, a holiday craft, guessing jar, hot chocolate station, storytelling, and more!  Thanks also for all the parents that joined us and helped with all the festivities!  Some students brought home the craft today while others decided to wait until tomorrow to take it home.

Also thank you for the gifts and cards!  I appreciate your thoughtfulness and generosity.

!.  Today your child has a reading log attached inside the Everyday Folder.  Please complete daily.  It is due Thursday, Jan. 12.

2.  Join us for the holiday party tomorrow 1:30-3:15.

3.  Social Studies Map Project is due tomorrow.

4.  Spelling Week 14 is on Spelling City and may be practiced on Spelling City.

1.  Holiday Party is on Thursday from 1:30- 3:15.  The homeroom moms have been working hard and have some wonderful things planned.  Hope you can join us!
2.  Spelling City can be used for Week 14.  Test is this Friday.
3.   Social Studies Map Project is due on this Thursday.
4.   Read 20 minutes daily.
5.   Practice math flashcards for addition and subtraction. Your child needs to memorize them.

Please have your child come to the classroom at 6:20 ready for the concert.  They performed for the school today and they did a great job!

Spelling Week 13 is on spelling city and the test is tomorrow.

Please turn in your holiday dues for the homeroom moms tomorrow if possible.

If your child didn’t return the tests sent home yesterday, please sign and return tomorrow.

Reminder to continue working on the social studies map project due next week.
