April Field Trip Dates

We will be having two field trips in April.   I am not asking for chaperones yet, but I wanted you to be aware of the dates to be sure you have the forms filled out in the office so that you are an approved chaperone if you are interested.  The dates are April 18 a.m. and April 19 all day.  More details will be coming after the school break.

Chapter 7 Math study guide due completed and signed on Tuesday, March 28. Spelling test tomorrow. Other….

The chapter 7 study guides went home today.  We began them in class but they need to be finished and studied.  We had our Science test today and we did AWESOME!  The boys and girls enjoyed the unit and they have become experts on landforms and bodies of water!  Next Wednesday, March 29 are conferences.  If I sent home a conference note, please return so I know if you would like to meet.  If I didn’t send home a note and you would like to meet with me, please let me know so that I can get you scheduled for March 29.

Science Study Guide Due Tomorrow for test.

Tomorrow the Science Study Guide  is due completed and signed. Please return the book also.   Today your child brought home their completed Landform Model.  Your child can identify the landforms and bodies of water!  It may stay home.  Thanks again for sending in the flour and salt for our playdough to make the landforms!

Today the students did an amazing job on their Social Studies Test.  The test was on the computer but I will send home the test scores along with the report card next week.

The Science Fair BootCamp was great!  The students investigations looked awesome and they made interesting discoveries!

Reading logs are due tomorrrow too.

We are looking ahead to the NWEA in April and we are doing Prepdog Review.  Please do Prepdog 2nd grade Test 8 for Reading, Language, and Math some time during this week.

Science Study Guide sent home today for test Thursday, March 23. Kleenex boxes needed. More reminders……

Today your child is bringing home a blue construction paper folder inside the Everyday folder.  It has the science study guide and science book as well as items made in class to help review.  Please help your child review and study.  Return the completed study guide with parent signature along with the book on Thursday, March 23.  The extra  science items in the folder do not need to be returned.

We have gone through our supply of tissues so we need more to get us through the rest of the year.  Thanks in advance for sending in another box!

Today your child is bringing home the Social Studies Study Guide in a construction paper folder along with some papers from class.  Please review and sign to return on March 22.

Spring NWEA testing will be here soon, so I would like the students to practice Prepdog each week.  Please do second grade Prepdog Basic  7 for reading, language, and Math.  The time can be used as a reading time on the reading log.

Wow! We had an awesome Artifact Museum! All artifacts went home today!

Today we had an awesome Artifact Museum!  We had many interesting things such as old coins, sugar container, cameras, washboard, bread plate, pressure gauge, jewelry, chain link purse, photos, engineer measuring tool, dolls, war helmet, coal from the Titanic, banjo,  an alarm clock, a JFK vinyl album with his inauguration speech, and more………!  We had items as old as 106 years old!  We had fun sharing and learning about the past!  We will post pictures on our lockers soon so that you can see all of them too!

  3.  Visit the amazing geometric animals in the Media Center sometime.
