Ch. 8 Study guides due tomorrow for math test. Publishing Center books are coming home this week to be typed. Week 29 for Spelling. NWEA SOON. DO PREPDOB.

Sorry about the typo.  The heading should read PREPDOG.  (It won’t let me edit the heading!)

Tomorrow will be the chapter 8 study guide.  Please go over the completed study guide and sign.

Week 29 is on Spelling City.

The NWEA testing window is open, so we will be testing soon. Please have your child do some second grade Prepdog practice for reading, language, and Math.  I suggested Week 7.  If your child did week 7, do a different week.  Your child can earn a boarding pass for doing Prepdog.

The students have been working on Publishing Center books and they will be coming home soon.  Please send in colored pencils so that we can work on our illustrations after they are typed.

Thanks for your ongoing support!

Ch. 8 Math Study Guides sent home today. Test next Tuesday, April 25.

Your child has two study guides for math stapled together for the Ch. 8 Math test.  Your child was given math time, but they are not completed and  they have not been checked.  Please have your child complete the study guides and check over it with your child.  If you have questions, please let me know.  The study guides are due Tuesday, April 25 for the tests.

Tomorrow is Week 30 Spelling Test. The words are on Spelling City.

Today your child is bringing home a flyer about future events at the Dearborn Historical Museum.

In addition, your child is bringing home a note about ordering supplies for the next school year.

We are working on letter writing, so the  students enjoyed writing letters to the chaperones this week.   I hope the field trip chaperones enjoy the student written and edited letters.

Thanks for your ongoing support.

Thanks again for two great field trips! We had a surprise today after our field trip!

Today we had a great field trip at the Kensington Metropark.  We went on an educational nature hike and we learned many new things at the Nature Center presentation and activity room.  It was also fun eating lunch at the picnic tables at the park and playing on the equipment.  Thanks again to the chaperones who joined us today and yesterday!

When we returned to school, we had some surprise visitors.  We had two police officers stop by-  Alora’s dad and Officer Gordon too!  They brought Officer Gordan’s K9 Worf.  It was neat to see the officers and the police dog.  Each student was given a card about the K9 that shares some facts about it and the service the K9  provides.  Thanks again to Alora’s dad for surprising us!

Reminders:

  1.  Read 20 minutes.  Reading logs are due tomorrow.
  2.   Gym shoes tomorrow.
  3.  Spelling Week 30 on spelling city

Thanks so much for your ongoing support!

Field Trips

We had a great experience at the Dearborn Historical Museum today. Thanks again to the parents who joined us today!  Each of the students in your group wrote you a thank you letter.  The letters were sent home today with your child.

We are looking forward to our field trip tomorrow.  Thanks in advance to the 8 chaperones that signed up for tomorrow.  Please be at school at 9 so that I can let you know who is in your group.  Then you can ride the bus with the students or you can drive and meet us there.  Remember that we will be eating lunch at Kensington Metropark-Nature Center so bring a lunch and drink in  a throw away bag/container.  It is a good idea to double bag the lunch and put your child’s name on it.    We will be hiking, so please dress for the weather.

  2. Read 20  minutes daily
