Spelling City note went home today. Open House tomorrow. Reminders…..

Today your child brought home a note about Spelling City.  It tells what it is and how to use it.  It is a resource to help practice the spelling words for the week.  The students were introduced to it in class and worked on it in the computer lab this week.

I’m looking forward to seeing you all at Open House tomorrow!

Reminders:

  1.  Family picture
  2. supplies
  3. empty paper towel tube for math
  4. Gym shoes on Mondays and Thursdays (tomorrow)

Thanks for your support!

NWEA testing starts tomorrow,Spelling, Social Studies, Math and Other

Tomorrow we will begin the Fall NWEA testing.  Second graders take reading and math.  We will do one this Tuesday and one next Tuesday.  Please do not make appointments for those days and be sure your child is well rested.  Thanks.

Today your child is bringing home the first spelling list for the week along with a letter that describes the second grade spelling.  The list will come home each Monday in the Everyday Folder.  Please do not take it out.  Tests will be each Friday.

We have gym on Mondays and Thursdays so gym shoes are necessary on those days.   On Mondays, it begins at 8:50 so it is important students arrive on time to school. Library check out will begin next Monday, so books will need to be returned on Mondays.

In social studies we are studying families and communities.  Please be sure the family picture is turned in tomorrow, Sept. 12.  Thanks in advance!

In Math, we will be making a scroll to practice counting.  Please send in an empty paper towel tube as soon as possible.  If you have extras, please send them in for others.

Please send in beginning of the year notes and supplies.  Some students still don’t have them.

Thanks for your support!

Welcome to 2nd grade!

It was wonderful to meet the students today.  As of today, we have 22 students made up of 12 girls and 10 boys!  I also was pleased to meet some of the parents and I look forward to meeting more of you at Open House next week.

Today your child brought home an orange Everyday Folder that needs to go back and forth between school and home daily.  There are some items that need to be returned in the Everyday Folder tomorrow:  classroom letter signed, Emergency card completed and signed and completed lunch forms.  Included on the classroom letter was the supply list for 2nd grade.

Please send in a healthy snack for tomorrow morning.  We will have lunch at school tomorrow.  Our lunch time is 12-12:30.

Enjoy the beautiful day!

Academic Websites and items for access on district website for summer practice and Other items

Today I had the students attach inside their EveryDay Folder a list of things to do over the summer.  I am so proud of the growth that your children made this year.  It is important to continue learning and reviewing over the summer.

Please save the information to use throughout the summer!

If you would like to join us for field day, we will be participating 9:15-11:30 outside weather permitting. If you would like to join us for ice cream, then please join us 2:30 -3:30 in our classroom.  Both of these events are tomorrow, June 15!

Hope to see you tomorrow!

Thanks for your ongoing support.

Field Day Reminders. Whole class healthy snacks needed for Field Day, June 15.

This Thursday morning our class will participate in Field Day.  There will be a snack break 10:04-10:17.  Each child should bring in their own water bottle.  In addition, the school is not supplying the snack.  It was suggested to ask one or two of the student’s parents to supply a healthy snack for the whole class to make it easy.  Please let me know if you would like to send in a healthy snack for the whole class.

Other reminders for Field Day:

  1.  comfortable shoes
  2.  sunscreen
  3. water bottle with your child’s name on it.

Thanks again for your ongoing support!
