Tomorrow your child will be bringing home a reading log.  Please have your child read a minimum of 20 minutes daily and complete the log.  It will be due on Tuesday, October 10. Tuesdays will be the day of the week that the reading log will be due and a new one will be sent home.

Today your child is bringing home the Week 4 spelling words attached in the everyday folder.  Week 4 words are available on Spelling City.

The math study guide is due tomorrow.  It should be completed with 2-4 sentences on the written responses.  Please include a parent signature.  Today some students showed me there work on the study guide.  Please review with your child.  The short answer should  explain the answer.  Some of the words that we have been using at school to practice include:  bigger than, less than, same, different, ones place, tens place. For example if  comparing 41 and 37, the response may state that 37 is larger than 41.  I know that because 4 tens is greater than 3 tens.  Please look at #10 AND  #15 on the study guide and have your child explain like the example.  For number 5, also be sure the student is using words from the given word bank.  The word bank will not be posted during the assessment.

Today your child began working on the Math DEC Chapter 1 study guide.    It has not been checked in class as it is a study guide to be completed and reviewed at home to help study for the test. Please work with your child to complete and review the study guide.  Also, you can make up problems like the ones given to help review.  Please sign the study guide so that it confirms that it made it home.  Do not return until Tuesday, October 3.  The test will be on Tuesday.

Week 3 words are on spelling city to practice for the test tomorrow.

Today we had the first spelling test.  Each week the test will be sent home the following week after the students have a chance to graph their scores in their Leader Notebook.

Reminders:

1. From the office:  Any and all checks written to the school must be written to the Dearborn Public Schools not Lindbergh.
2. Empty paper towel tube. If you have extras, please send them in for students that may not have one.
