Tests coming home to sign and return. NWEA Reading Test is Monday, January 22…..

Today we finally had a chance to graph our tests to send home.  Your child is bringing home Spelling Week 14 and 15 tests.  Also your child has the  CH. 4 DEC test, Ch. 4 Everyday Math test, and the Social Studies Unit 2 Test results all stapled together.  Please sign and return the two math tests and the social studies slip signed so that I can verify that you had a chance to see them.  The science test that was taken yesterday may not be sent home until all students have taken the test.

Please be sure that your child is rested and has had a good breakfast as we have the NWEA reading test on Monday morning.

Please continue to have your child read 20 minutes daily.

Happy shape hunting for your geometric animal. 🙂

Geometric Animal Project Directions are coming home today……….

Today your child is bringing home directions for the geometric animal project.  We are learning 3-D and 2-D shapes so this is an activity that will support that learning.  Please return the bottom portion of the letter by Friday, Jan. 19 to confirm that you have received it.  Keep the directions for further reference.  The grading rubric is included also.  Please return the rubric on Feb. 28 along with the completed geometric animal.  🙂

Thanks!

Happy shape hunting.  Have fun!

NWEA January Testing Dates. Class Golden Awards

We will be taking the NWEA in January.  Please do not schedule appointments during the testing times if possible.  The NWEA  Math testing will be on Wednesday, Jan. 17 in the afternoon and the NWEA Reading testing will be on Monday, January 22 in the morning.

Congratulations to your students for the Golden Awards earned for their December behavior!! They earned the Golden Shoe  for gym and the Golden Note for Music!!

Thanks for your ongoing support!

Reading log, SS project, Other

Today your child brought home a new reading log that is due on Jan. 16.  The map project is due this Friday.

The students each wrote a letter to the local fire department and to Veterans  before break.  They were excited today that the class received a letter from Operation Gratitude thanking them for the letters for the Veterans.

Due to children being out sick prior to break, the tests taken before break will not be returned until all the tests are completed.

Thanks for your ongoing support.

Welcome back! Spelling Week 15, Reading log, Map

Welcome back!  Hope  you and your family had a nice break.  This week List 15 is on Spelling City to study for Friday.  The Social Studies Map is due Friday also.

The reading log is due tomorrow January 9.

We are studying landforms and we will be making a model. We needed 12 ziplock sandwich bags with 3/4 cup flour and 1/4 cup salt premeasured and mixed in the bags, but we are now all set.  Thank  you to Mrs. Fawaz for volunteering to send them all in for Thursday!!

Thanks for your ongoing support!
