Our class will be learning about apologizing.  At the end of the week ask your child,”What does a sincere apology sound like?”

The NWEA schedule has changed.  We are scheduled to do the Math NWEA tomorrow afternoon and the Reading NWEA next Monday morning.  Please do not schedule appointments for those dates if possible.

The clean-up parade is this Thursday afternoon at 1:30 Thank you to Mrs. Khatri who has collected items from local businesses for both second grade classes for the parade.  They will have working aprons to wear and paint brushes to carry.  The Lindbergh Flyer note that was sent home last week also encourages students to wear our school colors and to make a poster that encourages the cleanup theme and incorporates the 7 habits too.

Please have your student turn in the field trip note and money.  Parent chaperones are welcome.

Other:

1.  Math ch. 9 study guide is due Wednesday completed and signed for the test.
2. Reading log is due tomorrow.

Today your child has the social studies small slip with the score from yesterday’s test attached to the reading log in the Everyday Folder. Please sign so that I know you saw it.  Also please sign and return ch. 8 math test that was sent home yesterday.

Today your child is bringing home the CH. 8 math tests stapled together for you to sign.  In addition, the CH. 9 Math study guide is being sent home too.  Your child has completed some of it in class, but it needs to be finished, reviewed and studied for the test on Wednesday, May 16.

This week’s Spelling 32 is on Spelling City.

The NWEA testing will be May 14 for reading and May 21 for Math.  Both will be in the morning.  Please be sure your child is rested and has had a good breakfast and please do not schedule appointments during those times.

The leader in me lesson  this week is about compliments.  At the end of the week ask your child, “What do you do when someone gives you a compliment?”

All of the publishing center books have been sent home except for student #1.  Thanks in advance for editing, revising, and typing the dedication, story, and about the author. Please return the gallon bag with all the items and the book after typing and gluing on Monday, May 7.  Students will be working on the cover and pictures.  The books will be on display in the media center next Friday.
