Week 4 is on Spelling City and the test will be this Friday.

Today Math Lesson 8 homework helper page 31 went home as well as the student page 33 and page 34 is on the back.  Please review page 31 with your child as the 3 steps need to be followed when completing page 33 and 34.  On the story problem your child should Read, Draw, Write number equation, Write a statement with the answer.

This week for Leader In Me , we will be doing a habit overview.  At the end of the week ask your child, “What habit did you choose to work on?”

Surveys:  Ms. Tiba is sending a home survey with thirteen  of the students in our class.  Please check your child’s folder to see if you have one to complete.  It should be in the homework side for parents to do.  It is important that all of them are completed and returned.

Spelling:  Please study week 3 spelling.  Words are found on spelling city.

Beginning next week your child will be bringing home a reading log that will be due the following Tuesday.  Each Tuesday your child will get a new reading log to complete.

Math:  Today we are going to try to highlight the top of the homework math sheet to differentiate it from the math classwork.  Hope that helps.  Homework will be due tomorrow.

Math Lesson 5 homework is coming home and it is due tomorrow.  Do the best you can on the homework as it is a new program.  Your child may do every other one if the assignment needs to be adjusted for your child.  Thanks for your support!

If additional spelling or Scholastic homework  is sent home, it is work that your child did not finish in class.

This Wednesday is a Late Start day for the district, so students come an hour later.

This week for Leader In Me  our class will be talking about primary greatness.  It is the strength and character that comes from the personal satisfaction that we feel when showing integrity and responsibility.  At the end of the week ask your child,”What makes you feel good about who you are?”

Each week there are two bonus words that are added to the chart for practice.  The 2 bonus words are not posted on Spelling City and they do not count against the grade but the bonus words help the students learn connections to other words. For example last week, we had the word “to” so we had the homophones “two” and “too”.  This week, we have the word for.  For bonus we have the number word  “four” and the prefix “fore” like in the words forehead or forecast.  We will be learning about homophones and prefixes this year so this is just the beginning of the learning of those concepts.

There is no math homework  today.

Some students are still having difficulty bringing in their homework.  Please help your child with this responsibility.

Today your child graphed the spelling test data for lesson 1 and your child is bringing home the spelling test.  The spelling test does not need to be returned.   Week 2 test is Friday and the words are in the folder and on Spelling City.

Math homework today: Page 11 is the homework helper for parents and pages 13 and 14 need to be completed by your student and returned tomorrow.

We finished the NWEA testing today. The results will be given with the 1st marking report card.

Thanks to all that have sent in their family pictures.  We have a few students who still need to bring a picture.  Please send in tomorrow.  The pictures are needed before Open House this Thursday.

Today your child put the Spelling Week 2 in their Everyday Folder. The Week 2 words are available on Spellling City!   The Week 1 test has been checked, however, it will not go home until we get a chance to graph the results in the Leader notebooks.

The students brought home math practice sheets 7-10.  Please return tomorrow and support your child.  If there are questions, we will address them in class tomorrow.

Each week we will focus on different leadership skills.  This week we will identify the characteristics of a leader.  On Friday ask your child,  “What qualities do you have that make you a leader?”
