This week is the start of the 2nd marking. Students are expected to continue reading for 20 minutes a night for 4 nights out of the week and write for 20 minutes once a week at home. That is their challenge. They can use your support with reaching this challenge by providing a time and quiet place to read and write. I am asking that this week parents sign that their child has read as a way for you to have a discussion on what they are reading. Another change is that students will need to summarize up their week of reading and reflect their thoughts on what they read this week.

In class we are working on reading strategies and personal narrative writing. At this point we are working on typing the personal narratives into google docs and are expecting to have it done by Friday. Towards the end of the week your child may need to finish it from home. If so I will post directions on how to do so.
Remember Parent/Teacher/ Student Conferences are next Monday from 4-6 pm and Wednesday from 3:30-6:30 pm. Ist marking report cards will be available to pick up then. Watch for a note home on the details soon.
