This week students took their NWEA reading and language tests to determine where they are. Students received a lexile score for reading. This score can help them determine which books are good fit books ( they can understand them because they are on their reading level. Most of our books here show what lexile they are but for books from outside of school students can go to www.lexile.com and type in the title to finds the score. Students can also use the site to help them find books that interest them in their lexile score.
Today, after your child has me for class, Mi-star will show your child’s current grade in class including this week’s homework challenge. Be sure to take a look.
Finally over the break students may do a bonus challenge for homework. They can chose to either read and write a summary of what they read ( include title of book, author, and time read) or write about something of their choice ( include a word count and time spent). Doing so will result in extra credit!
