This week we will be reading another version of Cinderella called Sootface. You will be analyzing the text to determine the theme of the story. You will then compare and contrast a common theme from Sootface and Yeh-Shen and explain how the authors develop the theme.
Figurative language is wrapping up with the last presentations scheduled for Friday. Next Tuesday you will be taking a test on figurative language. We will be reviewing this week and by the end of the week you shouldn’t need to look at your ISN’s or the anchor charts to determine what each one is. After an eternity of working with figurative language it should be down pat. It should be a piece of cake. Your brain should be a live wire making connections without even thinking.
In Vocabulary we will begin working on Lesson 8. The timing for finishing is to be determined since next week there is a lot of testing going on. Our dates for NWEA are next Wednesday and Thursday. Your hard work should pay off.
