Legends of Learning

Hello families. I am looking into another resource for student learning. Legends of Learning is a program that students can learn from while playing a game. There are games for different subjects offered on Legends of Learning. I have made one today. For a fun AND informational game of learning please follow these steps:
1.) login.legendsoflearning.com
2.) Select “Play Now” under “Students”
3.) Select “Play Teacher Playlist
4.) Enter the teacher code: FALETT1
5.) Select “SIgn Up”
6.) Enter a User Name and make an account
7.) Select “Weather Patterns”
7.) Create your avatar
8.) Begin playing and learning!

Suggested Daily Schedule

Hello, Bandits! I hope everyone is safe and healthy throughout all of this confusion. In times like these, I believe it has never been more important to remember to think about the good things that our lives offer us. We are alive, we are loved and we are not alone in this!
I imagine many students might be confused and unsure about what is going on. While in school, students have a routine, which provides a sense of security and normalcy. I have put a “Daily Schedule” together for any families who want to use it with their child. Of course, you can make modifications, or changes, for whatever fits your family. 🙂

Before 9:00 am – Wake up

9:15 am – Breakfast

9:45 am – Get dressed for the day

10:00 am – Go for a walk or do yoga

10:30 am – Read Matilda and work on the assigned work

11:30 am – Lunch

12: 15 pm – Do an art project (drawing, coloring, painting, experimenting with different materials)

1:00 pm – Do your chores

1:30 pm – Complete a Math lesson, review Math concepts already learned, practice your multiplication facts, use Zearn

2:30 pm – Play outside (get fresh air)

3:00 pm – Complete some or all of the science lesson for the week and/or explore on https://kids.nationalgeographic.com/

4:00 – student’s bedtime – Daily responsibilities with family

Grab and Go

Dearborn Schools adds seventh site for free breakfast and lunch pickups for students

After a successful first few days, Dearborn Public Schools on Monday will add a seventh site where families can come pick up free breakfast and lunch for students.

O.L. Smith Middle School will start offering the grab-and-go bags of food on Monday, March 23. It joins Fordson, Edsel Ford and Dearborn high schools; McCollough-Unis; Salina Intermediate; and Woodworth Middle School, which all started offering meals on Tuesday, March 17.

The District distributed about 3,000 meals on Tuesday, 5,000 meals on Wednesday and 7,500 meals on Thursday across the six locations, reported Food Service Director Jeff Murphy.

Google Hangouts, Moving Forward

Good afternoon
I am going to begin holding Google Hangouts every Monday, Wednesday and Friday from 12 – 12:45.
On Tuesday’s and Thursday’s I will be attending webinars and trainings in order to learn more about delivering content to my students via the internet.

Google Hangouts are meant to look like our classroom as much as possible. For example, we can chat for a little about what you have been up to at home and with your families. We will also begin reading some of the book Matilda together and then discussing it. Finally, I can answer any questions you might have. Thank you for participating and doing what you can so that you can feel ready when we meet again in room 24 =)

Tomorrow’s Google Hangout

CORRECTION: Tomorrow’s Google Hangout is being changed to be from 11:00 am – 11:45 am. Tomorrow’s Google Hangout will NOT be from 12 – 12:45 like originally planned. I have a training for a possible Social Studies resource for students at 12 tomorrow instead. Thank you!

Students must have the work completed by the end of the week. I will post a new link every Monday on here and on my blog that will outline that weeks school work that the students must have completed. Students should also practice cursive!
