PEEK AT THE WEEK

  • Our core vocab word of the week was “kick”
  • We practiced using the word “kick” in many ways. The children took turns kicking a ball while the rest of the students told them to “kick, kick”, we played a file folder game and told the boy “don’t kick” objects that start with the letter k
  • Our letter of the week was “K”
  • We practiced the letter “K” by reading an interactive book and searching through our bean bin for objects that start with the letter “K,” we did a kite bingo sheet, and sang letter “K” song
  • The children marble painted evergreen trees with bells while we sang “Jingle Bells”
  • We practiced counting, number recognition, and 1:1 correspondence with an interactive Christmas counting book
  • The children listened to a story about family traditions then we graphed everyone’s favorite
  • We read an interactive color yellow book and completed a yellow coloring page
  • The students made hand print reindeer to hang on a winter theme bulletin board in our classroom
  • We practiced tracing lines and circles
  • The students worked on building stamina during read to self time
  • We had find motor Friday and practiced our fine motor skills with puzzles, pegs, and button tasks
