Newsletter for the week of September 10th

PEEK AT THE WEEK

  • Our core vocab word of the week was “go.” The students practiced using the word “go” with a toy car.  We would say “ready, set, go” and then they drove the car up to a stop sign
  • We read “Chicka Chicka Boom Boom” and practiced making letter sounds while placing foam letters on our Boom Boom tree
  • The students practiced number recognition and counting with our back to school interactive book. We also built towers as many blocks high as the number on each page we read
  • We painted at the easel and then turned our paintings into crayons that are hanging outside of our classroom
  • The students worked on their book handling skills.  We practiced turning pages from left to right and pointing to pictures on the pages
  • The children practiced their fine motor skills with all sorts of different tasks, including puzzles, lacing, and button and peg jars
  • We played outside on the playground. We love going down the slides!
