Dear Parents : The new Spelling list is as follows: main, sail, jay, stay, may, wait, tail train, hay, pay. For the month of November, the Tic Tac Toe activities will be a bit different, but students will still be able to do them in class.

Thank you for making our field trip so wonderful, and thanks so much to all who were able to participate as a chaperone.

The first day of parent conferences is Thurs. 11/8. I will pass a reminder note to you stating the time. If you don’t receive one, I will pass yours next week, reminding you of your  time on 11/13 or 11/15. Report cards will be given at conferences. Thank you!

Dear Parents: As I was grading the Math Tests, I noticed that about 75% of the class did very poorly. I do not wish for them to receive this poor grade on their report card, so I will be reteaching this week, and will give a retake on Thursday. I do notice that most of the students that did poorly measured correctly, but did not read the question correctly. I also notice that many students who did poorly have flipped their card often for not listening and focusing during Math. The students are expected to do a lot of reading in these Math questions. They must know certain vocabulary in order to know if the question is addition or subtraction. Please review the sheet I sent home with addition/subtraction vocabulary on it, and please review the copy of the test I will be sending home.

Remember that Wednesday is our class party and parade. Please have children wear their costumes, and the parade will begin at 2:30. If you signed up to send in items for the party, please send them in by Wednesday. Thank you!

Dear Parents: Unfortunately I ran out of time at the end of the day to give the Spelling Test. Please have the students study the words on the Tic Tac Toe that I passed back, and I will give the test on Monday. Thank you!

Dear Parents: Next week is a busy week! Please review the Math Study Guide. The Math Test will be Tuesday. We will have the Spelling Test on Thursday next week due to our Field Trip on Friday.

The Math Test for Unit 2 will be next week, most likely Monday.Tomorrow I will be sending the Study Guide with correct answers on it for students to study. Thank you.

Dear Parents: I will send the Party Sign Up Sheet tomorrow. I apologize for the delay. We have 26 students, and I am asking for some “healthy choices,” rather than many sweets. I am in need of paper products, plastic silverware, napkins, water bottles, juice boxes, fruit, vegetables, etc. Candy and sweets are certainly fine as well. I just don’t want to overload the students with too much sugar. Thank you. I will send a sign up sheet tomorrow.

Dear Parents: Please see me, or contact me by phone or email if you would like to chaperone on our first Field Trip, Friday, October 26. I can only have about 8 chaperones on this trip, so I will have to take the first 8 people that contact me.

Today I will send home a sign up sheet for the Halloween Party on Wednesday, October 31. The students will be watching a movie, and passing their own treats to the class. I do not need parent helpers on that day, but you are invited to watch the students in the Halloween Parade that begins at 2:30 that day. Students should wear their costumes to school that day, and they will be parading around the school at that time. Thank you!
