Spelling and Week of 10/28-11/1

Dear Parents: The Spelling List for this week is: slide, slip, skin, skid, skip, step, stand, stone, spell, spin. We will NOT have Spelling next week, due to our busy schedule, and half day Friday.

For next week: Monday 10/28 Field Trip: If you are a chaperone, please come to school first with your child, so I can take attendance, then please drive your own child to the Museum to meet us there at the entrance. Please pack a BAG lunch and drink, (no lunch boxes). Please double bag the lunch, so the bag doesn’t break.

Tuesday 10/29 PBIS: If you volunteered to bring cider, donuts, cups, or napkins for PBIS, please send them in that day. They can be dropped off in the classroom or in the office.

Thursday 10/31 Halloween: Please drop off any items for the party in the classroom, or in the office. Please have students wear costumes that day. Parents may attend the parade beginning at 2:50.

Friday 11/1 Half Day

Thank you!

Halloween

Dear Parents: We will be having a Halloween Party on Thurs. October 31. I will be sending home a sign up sheet if you would like to send a snack or drink for the party. Although candy and sweets are fine, please consider something a bit healthier, like water bottles, veggies, fruit, pretzels, etc. I do not have parents attend the party, because the students enjoy passing out their own treats, and they will be watching a movie. The students should wear their costumes to school that day because of the parade. It is very difficult for them to change at school, so please send them with their costume already on. The parade will be outside of the school at 2:50 that day. All parents are welcome to attend the parade. Thank you so much!

Week of 10/14-10/18

Dear Parents: A reminder to please review the Math Study Guide with students, as we have a Math Test tomorrow. Also, a reminder that Wednesday is a Late Start this week.

Our Spelling Words this week are: cute, cut, cube, cub, tube, nut, rude, jump, fume, bump. Thank you!

Field Trip

Dear Parents: Please note that the Field Trip permission slip and money are due tomorrow for our Oct. 28th trip. If there is an issue, please contact me, and I can extend until Monday. Please also note that if you have volunteered to chaperone, that your background check must be on file with the school office, and you must drive your own child to meet us at the museum, in order to save room on the bus. If you are a chaperone, you must stay the entire time of the trip to supervise children. Thank you so much for your help and support. Without your help, these trips would not be possible. Thank you.

Field Trip

Dear Parents: I have plenty of chaperones for the October 28 Field Trip. In fact, I have too many. I may have to do a raffle pick, and refund your money if you don’t get chosen. Hopefully, I won’t need to do that, but I will let you know. Thank you for all of your response in wanting to help.

Spelling List this week: rip, ripe, fin, fine, mix, did, hike, bike, pipe, pick.

Thank you.

Birthdays/Class Parties

Dear Parents: I apologize if there has been any confusion about birthdays and/or class parties. Students may bring something to share with the class for their birthday, but I do not have parents come in. Anything that you would like to have them share can be dropped off in the office, and the students may pass to the class with some friend helpers.

For class parties, we will have a party for Halloween, Winter, Valentine’s Day, and End of School Year. For these parties as well, I ask for parents to send in any treats their child would like to share, but I do not have parents join the party. The students enjoy passing their own treats to the other children.

Thank you for your constant support and generosity. When it is closer to Halloween, I will pass a sign up sheet. Thank you!

Week of 9/23-9/27

Dear Parents:The first Math Test will be tomorrow. It is fairly simple, and is mostly review of skills. I will send home a Math Study Guide for students to practice and study today. The Spelling List for this week is: mad, made, cap, cape, back, bake, ham, tape, late, made.

Week of 9/16-9/20

There will be a Spelling Test on Friday, even though Friday is a half day. Friday dismissal will be at 11:45. Thank you!
