Dear Parents: Please remember that this Friday, October 13 is a half day. Students will be dismissed at 11:45. We will not be able to have Library Checkout that day, so students may keep their books an extra week.

Also, please note that our first Field Trip will be on Monday, October 30. We are only allowed 8 parents per classroom, so please contact me through note or email if you wish to chaperone. I will accept the first 8 responses I receive. You must be willing to chaperone a small group of students, not just your own child, and you must have an approved background check on file in the office. Also, parents that are chaperones must drive themselves and their own child, and meet us at The Rainforest Cafe at Great Lakes Crossing. We need this to save room on the bus. The note about the Field Trip and the permission slip will be passed out soon.

Dear Parents: Please correct #14 on the Math Study Guide. The <  >  symbol is going the wrong way. The district math committee creates these Study Guides, and at times there are mistakes on them. Thank you to Mr. Yacoobi for noticing this!

Dear Parents: There will be a Math Test on Tuesday, October 3rd. The test is a review of skills covered in First Grade such as Number Patterns, Place Value, and Comparing Numbers ( Greater Than/Less Than). A Study Guide will be sent home today to help students review for the test. This Study Guide will have the correct answers already on it. All students need to do is study it. Please help them with this. The questions on the test will not be exactly the same as the Study Guide, but very similar.

Dear Parents: Our NWEA testing will begin tomorrow, Monday, 9/18/17 in the afternoon. Please make sure students are well rested, and have eaten a healthy breakfast. I also will be assigning a Math sheet for homework every day in addition to the Spelling Tic Tac Toe. Please check your child’s planner every day for homework assignments. Also, our Gym Day has been changed to Thursdays. Please have students wear Gym shoes on that day. Thank you!

Dear Parents: Today I am sending home the first Spelling Homework called Tic Tac Toe. I have explained to the students how to do this, and the directions are also given on the sheet. This homework will be due every Friday, and students will be tested on the Spelling words every Friday also. Please help your child with the Tic Tac Toe activities, and to study for the test.

Dear Parents: I’m sure you are all excited for Summer Vacation to begin! This week we will not have Spelling, due to Friday being a half day. Please remember that tomorrow, June 13 is our Second Grade picnic. Several students have not turned in their permission slips yet. Please make sure they do this by tomorrow. Students may wear their 2nd Grade tshirts, and may also bring items from home to play with. Please make sure your child has a water bottle with their name on it, so that we can refill it throughout the day. All parents/families are welcome to join us at the picnic, and may sign out their child from the park if you wish to leave early.

Our last day party will be on Friday morning. Please remember if you signed up to bring an item for the party. Thank you!I

Dear Parents: The Study Guide for the Unit 10 Math Test was sent home yesterday. The Unit 10 Test will be on Friday, along with the Spelling Test. Some other important dates to keep in mind are as follows: Field Day: Mon. 6/5, 2nd Grade Picnic: Tues. 6/13, Last Day Party: Fri. 6/16. A signup  sheet for the Last Day Party will be given soon. Thank you!

Dear Parents: Please note that Field Day has been changed to Monday June 5, because of rain in the forecast for tomorrow. We will have a school picnic on that day, but we will also have another school picnic for May PBIS on Wednesday, May 31. These are 2 separate events, but children should dress appropriately, and have towels or blankets for both days. Thank you!

Dear Parents: Remember there is no school this Friday, or next Monday. Because of this, I will not be giving a Spelling Test or Tic Tac Toe assignment this week.

Please also remember that Wednesday 5/24 is Field Day. Students should wear gym shoes and comfortable clothes on that day please. Thank you!

Dear Parents: On Wednesday this week, we will begin the Reading portion of NWEA. Please make sure the students are well rested,  and have eaten a healthy breakfast. This score is extremely important. Also, we will be testing first thing in the morning, so please have students to school on time. Thank you!
