Color associations are based on personal experiences and culture. An association is a connection. Whether it’s a feeling, emotion, or symbolism, color associations exist all around us. For example, black, in western culture, is often associated with mourning, while in many Asian cultures, white symbolizes death.
We had just started to learn about “Color” as one of the 7 Elements of Art before school was cut short. Color happens to be one of my favorite units in art! Please read the following article on “Color Associations” before completing your assignment in iLearn (due Friday, May 8) 🙂
