EGG EXPERIMENT OBSERVATIONS: What happens to an egg when you leave it in Vinegar for 24 hours?

Students made observations about plants and animal when they went outside.

Ali Nasser’s nature observations.
I like how he made a t-chart to write things he noticed and I wonder questions
Ali did a good job adding labels to his diagram and he included an observation: What I found fascinating was how the bird’s were picking food and sharing with the squirrels.

Hussein went outside to look for animal tracks. He thinks this might be squirrel tracks. What do you think?

Mohanad and Mahdi found signs of spring.

Keeping People Safe

Kindergarten Teacher Mrs. Isham made masks for Health Care Workers. Mrs. Isham is a true Engineer and HERO working hard to solve a real world problem.
HOW CAN YOU MAKE A MASK THAT WILL PROTECT OUR HEALTH CARE WORKERS and others who need masks to protect them from the Coronavirus?
Hussein designed a Health Check bracelet to test if
people had a fever.

Hussein made fever bracelets out of duct tape for his entire family, even his baby brother! I love how our Henry Ford Engineers are thinking of ways to design objects that will keep people safe.

STEP 2: Fill the bottom of the bowl with water
STEP 3: Add a few drops of food coloring. Then mark the water level with a crayon or marker.
STEP 4: Put a wax candle in the middle of the bowl
STEP 5: Have an adult help you light the candle
STEP 6: Put a glass over the candle
STEP 7: Observe and record what happens

  • What do you notice about the water level?
  • What do you notice about the candle?
STEP 8: Try the experiment with 2 candles. Are the results the same or different?
SHARE YOUR RESULTS ON CLASS DOJO OR email Ms. McCormick at mccormk@dearbornschools.org
