Today the students will take a fraction quiz. This is the fourth quiz on adding, subtracting, multiplying and dividing fractions. Most are getting quite good at it. If your student is still struggling, try working on the IXL website. Students should have their login and password both at home and at school.

Today is ipad day in our class. Students will get the opportunity to work on IXL with the ipads.

No homework today. Have a great weekend!

Now that MEAP is over, we are back to our regular routine!

This Thursday students will take a test covering the volume section of our district common assessment. We have been working with this concept for the past few weeks. A study guide will be started in class, along with a review activity. Both are due back tomorrow.

On Friday we begin our next section, which covers positive and negative integers, along with graphing in the coordinate plane and finding areas.

Thank you to everyone that has sent in rolls of tape!

Today the students took an assessment on the first Geometry standard for sixth grade. Tomorrow is a quiz on operations with fractions. We have been reviewing operations with fractions each day this week. Ask your child about being an expert in the field of fractions!

ISN’s will be collected tomorrow so that I can grade them. I will be grading this time on following the set up format, complete pages, neatness, and showing their knowledge on each page. A rubric will be used to grade the ISN’s.

Next Friday is the end of the marking period. Conferences are on Monday, October 28 and Wednesday October 30. More information to come on times.

Yesterday and today were ISN days in sixth grade math. We finished two pages reviewing decimals, and two pages reviewing the area of squares and rectangles. Homework was due today and homework was sent home tonight to be returned tomorrow.

We played an area game with dice and graph paper, practicing the area formula.

Next week MEAP starts!! I will be sending home a schedule so that you can know what days your student is taking the MEAP. All MEAP tests are given the first three hours of each MEAP day.

WE NEED TAPE! Just rolls of tape would be fantastic. We have many dispensers that are empty.
