In front of our spooky Halloween Door!

We have been working on graphing in the coordinate plane.  Check out the ISN’s for more information!

Every day this week we have been studying for our fraction quiz tomorrow.  All questions will come from our warm up’s this week.  There will be no test corrections for this one.

Have a great Halloween!

Our notes today were focused on coordinate graphing.  The notes for the foldable are attached if anyone did not get a chance to finish in class.  Students started working on a practice page as well.

I encouraged everyone to begin studying tonight for the Fraction Friday quiz.  The quiz this week will come exactly from problems we did for warm ups this week.  12 out of 16 questions will be selected from the week.  There will be no test correction option this time.

Today our class took a pretest covering the remainder of our Geometry unit.  We also added to our ISN with notes on positive and negative integers.

Fraction quizzes were returned today, and test corrections will give students the opportunity to add points to their scores.  Students were told how to earn points back.  The answers to the quiz are attached to this post.

Homework was assigned.

Today the students will take a fraction quiz. This is the fourth quiz on adding, subtracting, multiplying and dividing fractions. Most are getting quite good at it. If your student is still struggling, try working on the IXL website. Students should have their login and password both at home and at school.

Today is ipad day in our class. Students will get the opportunity to work on IXL with the ipads.

No homework today. Have a great weekend!

Today is the final assessment for our section on volume. Students will be taking a part of the district common assessment. We will finish our Geometry unit in November.

Please encourage your student to continue working online at IXL.com. This website is a great practice site. A list of topics to work on was sent home, along with their login and id.

FRACTION FRIDAY! quiz tomorrow. Study your warm ups from the week and last week’s as well.

Now that MEAP is over, we are back to our regular routine!

This Thursday students will take a test covering the volume section of our district common assessment. We have been working with this concept for the past few weeks. A study guide will be started in class, along with a review activity. Both are due back tomorrow.

On Friday we begin our next section, which covers positive and negative integers, along with graphing in the coordinate plane and finding areas.

Thank you to everyone that has sent in rolls of tape!

Today the students took an assessment on the first Geometry standard for sixth grade. Tomorrow is a quiz on operations with fractions. We have been reviewing operations with fractions each day this week. Ask your child about being an expert in the field of fractions!

ISN’s will be collected tomorrow so that I can grade them. I will be grading this time on following the set up format, complete pages, neatness, and showing their knowledge on each page. A rubric will be used to grade the ISN’s.

Next Friday is the end of the marking period. Conferences are on Monday, October 28 and Wednesday October 30. More information to come on times.
