I can research and answer questions about the Presidents of the United States of America.

President’s Research Project

TASK #1

Go to Myon.com and search for the word “president”.  Using the gray bar, scroll down and choose only one of the nine books you see about presidents to read.

Then, write down the name of the president you chose.

Write down when he was born like this:  March 1, 1732.

Next, write down where he was born.  Remember to write both the city and the state like this:  Dallas, Texas.

Lastly, name something important your president did while he was in office.  Be specific.

TASK #2

Google “US presidents” and select a different president to research than the one you did on Task #1.

Next, go to KidRex.org and search for facts on your president.  Type in the search like the examples below.

Ex:  John F. Kennedy facts for kids

Ex:  George Washington facts for kids

Then, write down the name of the president you chose.

Circle ‘yes’ or ‘no’ to the question, “Married?”

Cirlcle ‘yes’ or ‘no’ to the question, “Children?”  If yes, write the names of his children.

Lastly, name something important your president did while he was in office.  Be specific.

Autobiographical Poem Generator

3rd Grade:  I can write and add formatting to an autobiographical poem.

Content Objective:  Students will demonstrate the ability to fill in a poem generator, copy/paste and add formatting by changing the font and font size of the poem.

Language Objective:  Students will listen to directions, read directions on the poem generator and write their responses in the poem generator.

SBAC Skill Objective:  Copying and pasting into another document, navigation from site to site.

Language Objective: Students will read information on their animal from FactMonster.com and write their information on their information sheet to be used when creating the PowerPoint report.

The students continue to practice the log in & log out procedure and take themselves to the keyboarding websites Keyboard Zoo (1st grade) and Dance Mat Typing (2nd & 3rd grade) to practice their keyboarding skills.  They will continue to use these websites for approximately 2 additional weeks to reinforce learning.
