Welcome Back!!!! Let’s start the school year with more hopes of “the normal” of once upon a time. I hope this email finds you well and in good health. Please see attached the Back to School Drive Thru Flyer. The Drive Thru is scheduled for Monday August 31st, 2020 from 12pm-5pm. The Back to School Drive Thru Bash will be providing: backpacks, school supplies, sporting goods, food packages, oral hygiene kits, giveaways and much more. The event is free to the community and participants can attend the entire event all from the safety of their car. We will also be scheduling appointments onsite for school physicals and immunizations for free. Please feel free to share with your friends and family. Let me know if you have any questions.
Welcome back to a new and exciting year at Haigh Elementary School! We look forward to another year of working together for the academic and social success of your student! My name is Miss Kibilko and I will be your child’s teacher this year. I am looking forward to this year with all the “newness” taking place 🙂 It is a year of growth and learning for us all! We will be working closely together, via online! Our platform is going to be schoology. More information to come on that next week. I know you have many questions and I will do my best to answer your questions. I am listing some important information below. Remote learning will consist of a combination of live and recorded lessons through zoom, small groups, learning labs, specials, etc..Week 1: 8.31-9.4 (NO SCHOOL FRIDAY 9.4 and MONDAY 9.7)Monday/Tuesday Drive Thru Meet & Greet- Monday August 31st 10:00-11:30 a.m. (Coburn/Robindale corner) OR Tuesday September 1st- 10:00-11:30(Coburn/Robindale) Come meet your teacher and pick up a packet that your child will need for the first 2 weeks of school 🙂 Wednesday- practice Zoom meeting (I’ll send out more info in email)Thursday- Zoom lesson/practice/Friday- NO SCHOOLExample Schedule Remote Learning Schedule Example Schoology (The platform used for remote learning, more info to come.)Zoom will be used to conduct live and recorded lessons.Assignments will be a combination of at home participation to live lessons, small group and independent work. Nickelodeon teamed up with two astronauts on the International Space Station to demonstrate how slime reacts to microgravity and had kids reproduce those same demonstrations back here on Earth. It makes for an amazing 15-minute virtual field trip.

2. The Zoo
There are so many amazing online options when it comes to zoos that we couldn’t narrow it down to just one. Most zoos have live webcams in some of their most popular exhibits, such as the Panda Cam at Zoo Atlanta. However, some zoos offer a more in-depth look. You’ll definitely want to check out the San Diego Zoo. Their site for kids includes behind-the-scenes videos and stories, as well as a variety of printable activities and online games.

4. The Farm
The classic preschool field trip goes online! Farm Fresh 360 allows you to immerse yourself in Canadian farm and food tours—from raising pigs to making milk and cheese. We’re also loving these virtual egg farm field trips from the American Egg Board.
