Mr. Kerr's 6th Grade Classes

We had our U.S. Map Quiz on the Mid-West & North-East States on Friday (21 points, grades have been posted) the second U.S. Map Quiz on the West & Southern States will be on Thursday (29 points).  I will be offering retakes on these quizzes Friday before and after school, but here is the catch it won’t be separated with two quizzes as before, but just one, therefore it will be ALL 50 States!

Science Unit Test on Weather & Climate is this Wednesday (it will be a majority taken on iLearn & two essay questions on paper).

The Geography Unit Test will be the following Wednesday (20th).

These assessments are ALL summative so please take them serious and study.

As always Power Points and Chapters have been scanned on the blog to assist students.

Finally, Progress Reports are going out this week… only if students have a C- or lower.  Students and Parents should be always checking grades online for the most accurate and up-date grades.

Also, I am scheduling the Geography quizzes and test… the fill-in U.S. map quiz of the mid-west & north-east regions will be December 8th, the fill-in U.S. map quiz of the south & west regions will be December 14th and the Unit Test on Chapter 8 will be most likely December 20th.  I also would like a Science Test on Climate & Weather on December 13th.

There was NO SCHOOL yesterday because of Election Day.

Student Led Parent/Teacher Conferences are next week on Monday November 13th & Tuesday November 14th. (3:30-6:30 PM)

Students need to be there.

I will be having a geography quiz next Friday on the 17th.  A study guide will go home.  However, here is the Power Point.

The 1st quarter ends today.

We had our science test on Chapter 6 yesterday and I will have all of those checked, recorded and posted by tomorrow morning.  Since the quarter ended today and grades are due for teachers on Tuesday I am offering retakes (anything below a C+) this Monday (Nov. 6th) at either 7:00 AM or at 3:05 PM in my classroom.  Therefore, students need to look on the student connect this weekend to decide if they are going to take advantage of that opportunity or not.

The Chapter 6 Science Study Guide is due tomorrow.  It was assigned last week on Friday and time was given on it during class.  We will be reviewing tomorrow in class.

The Unit Test is Thursday.

Final typed revisions form the C.E.R. on “Climate Change in the Mid-West” from the NEWSELA article is due Friday.

The 1st Quarter ends this Friday.  Please be sure to get anything missing to me by then for at least half-credit.

Parent/Teacher Conferences in two weeks.

The 1st quarter is fast coming to an end (November 3rd) and parent/teacher conferences will soon be there after.  I hope students and parents are constantly checking grades and e-mailing teachers whenever there is an issue.  Do not wait till the last minute.  I did send out Progress Reports last week for any student with a C- or below and asked that those get signed and returned.

I am going to try to have a science test next week on Thursday for Chapter 6 “Heat & Heat Technology”.

The PBIS Cider & Donuts is this Friday at 7:30 AM this Friday.  You will need three Eagle Etiquette tickets to attend.

Halloween is next Tuesday!
