Overview of our Weekly Schedule 4/20/20-4/24/20

Hi everyone! So a couple of things to start this week off. First off, 8 weeks of online learning left counting this week. Please let me know if you need help with ANYTHING. I am learning, too. Each subject is only to take 15-20 minutes per day and Science and Social Studies are to be alternated. I am including this chart as an overview, but I will be posting the google doc like normal everyday. On top will be the necessary subjects with enrichment and extra activities on the bottom. I will differentiate this with a line because some parents do not want their kids to know they have less to do. GRADES WILL BE GIVEN. When we assign work it should be done. We will be giving grades for the 4th marking period.

Chromebook pass out for those who requested it will hopefully be the week of 4/27, but you will be contacted with further information!

I have not set specific office hours as of now because I feel like we are all working together. If you feel I am not answering fast enough, please let me know and I will set specific hours.

Our weekly google meet will be on Wednesdays at 12pm. This week we will have Mrs. Abu-Rus joining us to ask questions about a story.

A message from your Specials Teachers: We would like to invite you to the Specials’ Google Meet! This is a fun opportunity to connect, share and ask questions of your Specials Teachers! Our meet for Kindergarten, 1st, and 2nd grades will be on Mondays at 10:00 a.m. The nickname for the meet is specials1420 and will stay the same for our meeting each week. We hope to see you there 🙂

Right now the plans will look similar to what you have been getting the past 3 weeks prior to spring break. There is a board meeting tonight that may give us more information, or we may get more info during our staff meeting later this week. As of right now we are not allowed to go back into the classroom. When we are I will let you know so you can come get the rest of their belongings.

I know some parents are saying this is too much work and some are saying it is not enough. If you ever need additional work they can go on khanacademy.com/mappers, XtraMath, Typing Club, Happy Numbers, Raz Kids, etc. Let them write a shopping list for you, organize something, learn a new skill, etc. Remember that, as of now, this work is not mandatory; however, it is required we hear from each family from time to time. If you are curious where to find different things, have your child check their Google Classroom.

Something that I thought of last week is that this is history. What the kids are doing, feeling, seeing.. it is all history. Having them write a journal can be helpful for them to express themselves and remember this in the future.
