This Week 4/26/20-5/1/20

Hi everyone! I have a few things to share.

First, we are no longer allowed to use google chat or meet according to the district. This means our group calls this week (Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday) are currently cancelled. I am unsure if we will use a new system because the training for the new system did not go as planned this weekend. I wanted to hold some 1 on 1 meetings with the kids this week, but right now that is on hold. I AM SO SORRY.

Second, we now have the premium membership to spellingcity.com. Your child can Log in with their name like this: FirstLast and the password is: kerby.

Mrs. Abu-Rus has lessons I will be posting on her behalf. The kids should be completing these, so I will include it in the plans.

I am linking our weekly plan here! https://docs.google.com/document/d/18g5jwt5aAfslcdoOjcyYqjOejB_xJn9U7HF610YKoto/edit?usp=sharing

Seeds, Office hours, Video.

Hi! Sorry for the midday post. I have been trying to communicate all at once to stop flooding your emails. A couple of things:

  1. I will now hold official office hours from 12pm-3pm. I will also continue to respond throughout the day and night like I have been, but I need official hours in place according to the district.
  2. The link to the video Mrs. Abu-Rus shared during our whole group time today is here. She is asking each child to create a rainbow to put on their door or window. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SvtGI9YxPk4
  3. Dearborn is offering free seeds to families. Here is the link to ask for some. https://tinyurl.com/ya8lwdx9 Our thought is to grow veggies, fruit, or flowers together for our “Plant Science Unit” in May. They’ll deliver seeds right to your house!
