Book Bags

This note went home with your child today. Here is a copy:

Dear First Grade Families,

This school year your child will be enjoying and
reading lots of books! In order for children to safely
bring books to and from school, we encourage that each studenthave their own book bag. Some families may have alreadypurchased book bags in Kindergarten, which may be reused forthis year, as well. If you would like to purchase a new book bag for
your child, the First Grade Team will be collecting money at schoolthroughout the week. The cost to order is $6
per bag – due to the classroom teacher no later than
Friday, September 14th. Please enclose all money in a
sealed envelope or Ziploc bag with your child’s name on it!

Thank you for your support in sharing the joy of reading with ourstudents!

Homework

Dear Parents or Guardians:

I am excited about having your child in room 123 this year and I am looking forward to working with you to ensure that your child has a successful year. Your child will be getting math homework and Spelling words on Monday. This is then due Friday.

Have your child share and explain these assignments to you, this will reinforce what they learned during the school day.

Homework will go out on Monday and needs to be returned Friday. There will also be a spelling test on Friday.

If at any time you are unclear about an assignment or have questions about your child’s work, please contact me on DOJO.  Please don’t stress over the homework, if you don’t know how to do it, no problem, write me a note saying it was troubling. If you have not signed up for DOJO, please do so and make sure you are checking it.

I look forward to working with you this year.

Sincerely,

Ms. Brown
