I have loved the final projects I have received from students so far, and I am excited to see the ones that come in throughout the rest of the day. Before Spring Break begins, I want to pass along information about report cards.
Accessing Report Cards Online
At 4 pm today (Friday, April 3rd) instructions will be posted on Lindbergh’s main blog about how to access report cards virtually. There will not be physical copies of report cards available.
Here is a link to the Lindbergh blog: https://lindbergh.dearbornschools.org/
On report cards, you will see that the majority of subject areas include a note saying “Limited grades due to COVID-19.” Unfortunately, many summative projects and assessments were planned for the last three weeks of the marking period, and those simply could not occur due to the timing of the school closure. Assignments from the three weeks of online learning did not factor into grades per district policy.
Have an AMAZING Spring Break! You all deserve it!
It honestly breaks my heart to know that I will not teach your students in-person again this school year, but we still have three months of wonderful learning ahead of us once Spring Break concludes.
Take time to recuperate and be together with your family this week without the added stress of school assignments. Please stay safe, healthy, and find joy in each day as much as you can. If you are looking for something to do as a family, our class just today finished reading Holes by Louis Sachar, and there is a movie version of this story on Disney+ and other streaming platforms. It is such a fun, meaningful story, and I think parents will find the very dated editing choices in the movie *interesting* to say the least 🙂
I will be spending these days off with my family and will not be available on email or Remind. I thank you for your patience as we teachers plan for the weeks to come.
