PE, Music, Art, and Science Enrichment

Each specials teacher now has their own section under “classwork” and has posted an assignment for the week. Please check for each assignment on Google Classroom under the correct section.

Math

4th: Complete Lesson 12 of Module 4 on Zearn.

5th: Complete Lesson 4 of Module 5 on Zearn.

ELA

1- Each student has an assignment for their small reading group titled “Finish by Sunday – then the title and chapters of their specific book“. Students will watch the set of videos I filmed to prepare them for the reading, then will complete the assigned chapters and worksheets. If students do not have access to a copy of their assigned book, please let me know and I will get them access to an e-book. Students should read the chapters and do the worksheets at their own pace with the goal of finishing by Sunday.

2- Live read aloud lesson of chapter 34 of Holes at 12:30 on Zoom, or students can listen to the read aloud and YouTube and use that to complete the assignment.

3- Read a chapter book for 30 minutes (they could combine this with their small group reading assignment!!!)

Social Studies

4th: Fourth graders should continue working on their writing assignment for the week: a descriptive paragraph about the branch of the federal government they were assigned. Students will find this assignment under the writing section under “classwork.” Students should work on the writing a little bit each day with the goal of turning it in Friday. I filmed videos for them to watch so they can complete each step of the process along with me.

5th: Yesterday and today, 5th graders will do research and take notes on a colony of their choice. They should use the several websites I have linked to find information about their colony, then record it in the note-taking document I have provided them. Students will use this document in the writing project they will start Wednesday, so it is best for them to finish it today. They can find this assignment in the “social studies” section.

Science

There is one assignment for students this week in science that students can complete whenever convenient (due Friday, ideally). They will be applying their knowledge from our last science unit to come up with a plan to protect an imaginary farm in Kansas. The directions are in the “science” section under “classwork.”
