5th Grade Only – Blue Ribbon Speech Opportunity

Ms. Tiba has invited 5th graders in our class to write speeches for the upcoming Dearborn Public Schools board meeting. Lindbergh is being honored at the board meeting for winning the National Blue Ribbon Award. The topic of the speech is, “What it means to be a blue ribbon school.” To be eligible, students need to bring in a handwritten or typed draft of their speech tomorrow, and be available to attend the board meeting this Monday, December 9th at 7 pm.

Tomorrow, Ms. Tiba and the 5th grade teachers will review the speeches that are turned in and let students know if they have been chosen to speak. I have spoken with all the 5th grade students about these details, and I have included them in bullet form below.

  • Speech topic: “What it means to be a blue ribbon school?” You can write about why Lindbergh deserved the blue ribbon award.
  • Drafts of speeches are due tomorrow.
  • Students must be available to give the speeches on Monday, Dec. 9th at 7 pm.
