Expected Changes Next Week to Remote Learning

Hello! Expect information about Dearborn’s online learning plan to come out next week. There will be some updates to how we are conducting online learning based on state guidelines. I will give you information as soon as it is available, and I’ll host a parent meeting about the new learning plan once the district rolls it out.

***Important for you know now: per new district policy, student’s work starting on Monday through the end of the year will be counted on the end of year report cards. Completion of assignments is an expectation, and I will do everything in my power to make sure your student has the resources they need to complete their work. I am developing new resources to help families plan for weekly assignments and what students have turned in. I will be able to give more information about this once the district learning plan is available to everyone.

Music, PE, Art, and Science Enrichment

Students have weekly assignments for each of their special classes. Students can find these assignments on Google Classroom under the Classwork tab. These assignments will also go on report cards for the end of the year.

Math

4th grade: Lesson 3 of Module 5. Watch Knowledge on the Go video and complete the problem set. Due Sunday night. Homework problems and EngageNY video can be done for extra practice. 4th grade also needs to have completed lessons 1, 2, and 3 on Zearn by Sunday. There will be one assignment on Google Classroom for this due Sunday.

5th grade: Lesson 15 of Module 5. Watch Knowledge on the Go video and complete the problem set. Due Sunday night. Homework problems and EngageNY video can be done for extra practice. Students also need to have completed lessons 13, 14, and 15 on Zearn by Sunday. There will be one assignment on Google Classroom for this due Sunday.

ELA

Our new read aloud book is Walk Two Moons! It’s truly an amazing story, and I’m excited to share it with students this year.

Here are the ELA tasks for today:

1- LIVE read aloud at 12:30, or students can complete the work by watching the videos and answering the make-up questions.

2 – “Friday Spelling – Final Spell Check Practice” in the writing section on the classwork tab.

3- Edit the letter to a health care worker.

4- Read for 30 minutes.

Science

Finish up the one required assignment for this week and the one optional assignment for this week!
