Week of 1/13/20

We have a shorter week this week due to Math NWEA testing on Tuesday and a half day of school on Friday. Please read below for announcements and the schoolwork/homework for the week.

Homework Posting

Many students have said they are having difficulty finding the homework for the week on my blog. Homework for each subject for the entire week can be found at the bottom of each section on the weekly post. For example, to find homework for math this week, scroll to the “Math” section on this post and you will see it listed by day.

T-Shirt Order Due Date EXTENDED

Lindbergh Parents,

From Ms: Tiba: Great news! If you were worried about what size to order, we now have sample apparel in the office for you to view. We are also extending the due date for orders till January 17. Keep those orders coming and show your Lindbergh pride!

ELA

In reading, students are going to continue considering different points of view in nonfiction writing. We are finishing up DRA testing this week. Many students have showed growth in their reading score so far! Updated scores will go home on report cards.

In writing, students will be editing and finalizing their persuasive writing. We will be having a peer review editing session as part of this process. The goal is to have each students complete their work in class either Friday or the following Tuesday.

Science

Students will be completing their final investigation in our space unit on Monday. I have decided not to give a quiz on this topic so students can focus on preparing for their science test.

The science test will be Thursday. The front page of the review sheet is due Tuesday, and the back side is due Wednesday.

I have posted the lessons for students to review on Google classroom. This will help them answer the questions on the study guide.

Students are welcome to the review sessions on Tuesday and Wednesday as long as they have their study guide with them and have attempted to answer each question on the worksheet.

Social studies

We are putting a “pause” on social studies this week to focus on finishing DRA tests, completing NWEA math testing, and publishing our persuasive writing pieces.

Spelling

Spelling words for this week will be up on my Spelling City page by Monday evening:
