About Halloween!

Hello, all! I hope everyone has had a refreshing and relaxing weekend!

I just want to give a quick overview of how tomorrow will go! I don’t plan on anything really being different about tomorrow, we will be in the same place for the same amount of time. It’s more about the content of the sessions tomorrow. I’ll have Halloween related crafts and activities, but I also intend to give the kids a goody bag, which is mostly what I want to talk about here. I’d like it to be a surprise though, so please don’t let them know what’s inside it if you see this post before tomorrow, thank you!

I’ve packed a bag for each child with:

-3 glowsticks and some connectors

-4 stickers

-Pretzels

-Sour Patch Kids

-A squishy toy (COMPLETELY NON-EDIBLE!!)

Everyone will be getting one, and I’ve put a name on each bag to avoid mix-ups. I am going to ask that children wait until they are home to open them so that you parents might be able to go through the bags with the child and decide whether it’s something you want them to have. I am putting a QR code inside the bag that leads to this post so the information easily available!

Aside from that, contact me at greimel@dearbornschools.org with anything you need!

Have a great day,

Jojo Greimel (they/them)

Good afternoon, parents! I hope everyone is having an amazing day!

Final reminder that tonight is the Trunk or Treat at the Administrative Service Center on Audette!!! It runs from 6:45 to 8 tonight! I would love to see you and your children there!

Our theme this week is personal hygiene. We’ve gone over some stuff in passing, but I think the kids will feel more confident in themselves if they are able to pick up on some easy and non time consuming tricks to freshen themselves up or learn some things about themselves and what works for us individually.

Tomorrow we will most likely have a little discussion about cleaning up after ourselves and generally keeping the spaces we frequent clean, as I’m a firm believer in a type of cluttered bedroom, cluttered mind mentality. We have been struggling to properly pick up after ourselves before moving onto the next task and I’d like to address these behaviors before it becomes a bigger issue. I also think it’s a good thing to practice in general.

You can contact me at greimel@dearbornschools.org, or you could come see me in person at the event!

Have great day!

Good afternoon, all! I hope everyone is having a great weekend.

Tomorrow it looks like it will be a little cold in the morning, so please tell your children to bring jackets! I have an activity planned that involves going outside for a short amount of time, but if it’s too cold or someone is under dressed, I can reschedule it. It appears to be a warm afternoon though!

Another reminder that tomorrow is the Trunk and Treat event at the Administrative Service Center on Audette. It is from 6:45 to 8:00. I will be there with a decorated car and hope to see you and your children as well!

As always, contact me at greimel@dearbornschools.org with any concerns!

Have a great day,

Jojo Greimel (they/them)

Hello parents! I am very sorry for not having posted in a while. I’ll be honest and say there hasn’t been much to update about, it’s been very smooth sailing in Kids Club as the children have all found ways to interact with each other and share what we have to work with in the Club!

I don’t want to go too far into it, but thank you to the parents and staff who have supported me! I really am just here for the kids and it makes me very happy to see parents who care deeply for their children’s knowledge and experiences. You all give me a lot of hope in this amazing generation of children.

With that, I know we all feel the cold, but kids are stubborn. Please tell them to bring all parts of their jackets and to actually wear them! These days I won’t bring them outside if they don’t bring their jackets, but they have a habit of tearing them of the moment they get outside and then being sniffly for the rest of our session. I really want them to have fun outside but I also really don’t want them to become ill.

Finally, another reminder for the Trunk or Treat taking place at the Administration Service Building on Audette! It is Monday, the 24th, from 6:45PM to 8:00PM.

Here is the link for the signup genius if you’d like to participate! https://m.signupgenius.com/#!/showSignUp/8050445aaa929a3fe3-trunk

I will post again soon with updates as per usual, thank you for your patience!
