Good morning, parents! I hope you’re all well.

We will be spending a lot of time outside today since it’s getting later in the year and I want all the kids to be outside as long as they can before the weather turns. We will also be spending time in the gym. I will have a snack provided for the afternoon session like usual.

My supervisors will be around in the 2PM-4PM time range to give me a half hour to hour long break. If I am not there, Aziza or Stephanie will likely be the people filling in, but the children will NEVER BE LEFT UNATTENDED. I just might not be the person dismissing your child if you come at that time.

That should be all from me for now, so if I don’t catch you on the way out, I hope you have a safe and fun weekend!

Thank you for your time,

Jojo Greimel (they/them)

HALF DAY LUNCH REMINDER

Posted on

Hi all,

I hope everyone is having a peaceful end to their day! I’d just like to remind everyone and let anyone that wasn’t aware know that on our half day tomorrow (the 16th), lunch is NOT being provided by the school. You will have to pack one for your child. I will be able to provide a snack later in the day, but not the full meal that they need for lunch.

I apologize for not notifying anyone earlier and for any inconvenience this causes, it completely slipped my mind. If there are any other concerns, feel free to contact me at greimel@dearbornschools.org.

Have a great night!

Good morning, folks! I hope everyone’s ready for what their day brings. I look forward to seeing you all this morning.

A final reminder that tomorrow (the 16th) is Friday, a half day. Dismissal for elementary schools is 12:05PM. I am available from that time until 6:15PM to watch your children during Kids Club. I would also like to note that the weather in that 6 hour time period is going to be extremely hot. It appears to be in the 70’s and low 80’s. If possible, please make sure to give them a refillable water bottle. I encourage them to practice proper hygiene and hydration while coming inside from a hot environment, and while most water fountains are still locked down, there is a water bottle filling station not far from where we spend most of our time.

I think that’s all from me for now. If you have any concerns, my email is greimel@dearbornschools.org.

Have a great day,

Jojo Greimel (they/them)

Good morning, parents. I hope everyone’s has a great beginning to their day! This will be a very short post, not a lot has changed since the last update.

I will be back this afternoon! I’m looking forward to seeing you all and your children again. I will be here for the remainder of the week like normally.

Again, Friday (the 16th) is a half day! Dismissal is 12:05PM so I will be able to run Kids Club from that time on until 6:15PM.

Thanks so much,

Jojo Greimel (they/them)

Good afternoon, parents! I hope you’re all having a good day.

I wanted to remind you all of my absence this afternoon (the 13th) and tomorrow morning (the 14th). I also want to remind everyone that Friday (the 16th) is a half day. I am available 12:05PM to 6:15PM to run Kids Club.

Also, I’m still sorry about the doors, neither myself or Joyce Monday (mornings only), have any control over whether the door is locked. I have had my own issues with it as well so I sympathize, but there is nothing I personally can do to change the door policy. Please just knock or call me (number is posted on doors closest to bathrooms), and I’ll be with you as soon as I can. For afternoon pickup, if you come to the doors closest to the playground, I will probably be able to see you and get to you faster. I understand this may be inconvenient, but these doors are locked for everyone’s safety in the building.

I am finally board approved and have received my badge, so the kids can now play outside during Kids Club (weather/environment permitting) without issue! We will resume our 15+ minutes of physical activity out there.

I think that’s all from me for now, and as always, you can contact my email at greimel@dearbornpublicschools.org!

I look forward to seeing you all on Wednesday,

Jojo Greimel (they/them)

Good afternoon everyone, I hope this post finds you well!  Just a little bit of information for this coming week.

This morning, (Monday, the 12th) it was around 60 degrees with a 20 percent chance of rain in our area.  The next few mornings are looking pretty similar, maybe just a bit colder.  We probably won’t be outside Monday or Tuesday morning, so we will have our physical activity for those days in the gym, but that’s subject to change.  Our location will still be posted by the iPad.

This week’s theme is integrity, which is defined as the quality of being honest and having strong moral principles; moral uprightness.  In other words, doing the right thing when no one is looking.  I think this is a good lesson for us as we head into our third week of school as we still learn about each other and respect our individual needs and boundaries.

We will put this into practice by respecting our toys, equipment, and environment by using them as intended and being mindful of whether we are being considerate towards our peers with their use.  We’ve had some troubles with throwing toys and snatching from others, so I’m hopeful that this week may show the kids why we don’t behave this way.

Finally, I will not be here Tuesday (the 13th) in the afternoon. I will not be here the following morning on Wednesday, the 14th, either. I will be back that afternoon though. If you need to contact me and I’m not at the school, my email is greimel@dearbornschools.org, which is always available and I check it multiple times a day.

Good Evening, Parents!

I hope everyone’s doing well.  It’s always great to see and hear from you all.

Just updating to let you all know about the door policy among a few other things.

In the morning, the door is usually open because parents drop kids off for all kinds of reasons in the early morning.  I believe it being locked today was a fluke because that’s not usually the case.  You should be able to drop off your child through the doors nearest to the bathrooms.  If you don’t see us in the cafeteria when you come in, we are likely outside or in the gym.  I will put a sign up indicating where by the iPad.

If you come to the doors closest to the playground, I will be able to see you and let you in.  The doors nearest to the bathroom should normally be unlocked by the time afternoon pickup rolls around, but if it’s not you can knock on the door really loud or give me a call.  If you don’t have my number and you’d like it I’d be glad to give it to you next time I see you in person!

Circling back to the playground, the kids love to spend time outside and constantly want to be out there.  But the summer’s coming to a close, and the mornings are starting to get very cold.  Please remind your children to bring hoodies and/or wear longer pants!  I have no problem taking them outside and we always have a lot of fun, but I don’t want anyone uncomfortable or getting sick.

Finally, if you subscribe using the box on the right side of the screen, I believe you will get an email notification whenever I post an update!  This site is where I will be posting about our in class activities, week-long themes, and generally what to expect.  The best way to reach me would be my email, at greimel@dearbornschools.org for any questions, concerns, and/or suggestions.

I hope you and your kids have a great weekend, I look forward to seeing you all on Monday!

Thanks for your time!

Hello Students and Parents!

Posted on

Hi, I’m Jojo Greimel. This is my first year working in a school and I’m thrilled to be around all of these intelligent and creative children.

First, I want to apologize for this incredibly late notice. But I’m very excited to finally have my blog up and running so I can communicate with you all! I was having some technical difficulties, but I think they’re solved so I will be able to update you all regularly through this blog.

Today is Open House, and I will be in the cafeteria as long as no one else is. I won’t be there for long, only 6PM to 6:30PM. But if I end up not being there at all, anyone is welcome to contact me over email at greimel@dearbornschools.org.

Thanks so much for your time, and I look forward to meeting you all!

Jojo Greimel (they/them)
