Happy Friday

Thank you so much to all the families who attended the open house it was such a joy getting to meet with you all. I want to touch on a few things as we welcome the weekend and look forward to next week.

Math:

I was out unexpectedly on Thursday because of this I don’t expect students to complete Lesson 4 as math homework over the weekend. So far students are keeping up with turning in math homework. If math homework becomes a struggle for you and your student please reach out to me for help.

Reading:

Please continue to initial the homework calendars on weeknights your student reads for at least 15 minutes, I check these every Friday. Reading nightly helps to set your child up for success. Students start library check out this coming Tuesday and are also welcome to check out books from our classroom library. I encourage you to read with your students by taking turns reading or have them read aloud to you.

NWEA:

We completed NWEA testing this week in the areas of language, reading, and math. I will begin working with students in small groups for focused instruction in math and reading. Keep an eye out for your students NWEA scores this coming week.

MStep:

The results of the MStep from fourth grade have been placed in your students home folder.

Orchestra & Band:

Orchestra will begin on Tuesday and Band will begin on Thursday. You still have time to turn in your instrument choices and payment or first installment next week.

Canoe Trip:

The canoe trip is this coming Thursday. If you would still like to go please turn in your permission slip and payment on Monday.
