Report Cards went home in folders this afternoon!

Today during science we discussed the details of this years science fair. Students started researching possible topics, please see the handout in your students home folder for specific details.

Science Buddies Resource

Most students have completed the NWEA for winter with the exception of a few students who need additional time or were absent this week. Please take a moment to look over the Family Report which explains their performance. I will send home updated individualized work plans next week that will help your student continue to grow.

NWEA will take place Tuesday (math), Wednesday (reading), and Thursday (language).

Students always seem to do their best with a good nights sleep and healthy snacks 🙂

Tonight’s homework is Module 4 Lesson 1. I had made a mistake on the homework calendar so I will make the correction and send home tomorrow. Thank you for your understanding.

Please check your students folder for a handout and permission slip regarding Heal-Shift-Move, a nonprofit organization based at the University of Michigan. They will facilitate discussions on all aspects of health. This year, they are working with 5th-grade students to provide a drug education and prevention program.
Heal-Shift-Move will be meeting with students once a week for 30 minutes on January 10th, 17th, and 24th.

If you review the information regarding the program and DO NOT want your student attending these seminars, please sign the permission slip and return it before the January 10th seminar.

FIELD TRIP REMINDER!!!

The Lansing trip is this Thursday 8:30-4:00ish.

Chaperones please arrive no later than 8:30 and check in with your students classroom teacher before heading to the cafeteria.

All students attending should bring 2 snacks one for the morning and one for the afternoon as well as a lunch.

If your student will be bring money for the gift shop it would be helpful if you placed it in a plastic bag with labeled with your students name.

Here is a run down of our day tomorrow.

Holiday sing along at 9am

Join us for board games in the classroom from 11:23-12:20. Students have lunch from 12:20-12:58. Board games will resume after lunch until 2:20.

Please feel free to drop in during any of those time slots. I know many of you will be in the building at various times throughout the day.

Students are also welcome to bring in a treat to share with their classmates.

Next week is a very exciting week and we have a lot of fun events planned. I wanted to get this information out to everyone ahead of time so you can plan accordingly.

Friday will be our class celebration before break. Students are welcome to bring in a treat to share with the class. Friday will also be a game day, students can bring in a board game that they would like to play with their classmates.

Spirit Week December 16-20th

Monday- Dress to Impress- New Years Eve Attire
Tuesday- Winter wonderland white out! Wear white and wish for
snow.
Wednesday- Twin day
Thursday- PJ day! Wear your favorite holiday pjs to school!
(Please also bring in a new pair of pajamas or a monetary donation for our school’s Girl Scout troop who is doing a pj drive)
Friday- Wear Red or Green or any festive attire for our school’s
holiday sing along. Holiday hats or headbands are included.

Please join us for the Holiday Sing Along at 9AM, December 20th in the Howe Gym 🙂

New homework calendars for December have been placed in your students home folder 🙂

Picture retakes will take place tomorrow please return the pictures you do not want in order to have new pictures taken.
