Pet of the Day
Posted onToday’s feature pet is our ball python, Nagini. He is between 4-5 feet long. It’s hard to tell for sure because he rarely straightens himself out. He likes to curl himself up, and this is where the name ball python comes from.

Nagini eats live prey so we feed him live mice once a week. He is a constrictor snake which means he strangles his prey and then swallows it whole. He moves very slowly in his tank and when held, but when it’s time to eat, he moves at lightning speed. Pet of the Day
Posted onToday I will be featuring our tortoise named Goji. He’s just a baby, but he’ll grow to be about 100 pounds when fully grown. Right now we can hold him in the palm of our hands. Isn’t he cute?

Goji eats Romaine lettuce and other leafy greens. He spends most of his day burrowed in his little hut. He likes to sunbathe, and in the summer when it’s nice and warm, he likes to roam around in the backyard. For more information about sulcata tortoises watch this youtube video https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0S8cDv2wmnE. Comment below and let me know what you think about Goji.
Pet of the Day
Posted onMany students have inquired about my pets and even have asked for me to bring them in to school. Since I can’t do that, I will share one pet of the day here on my blog. Let me introduce you to Fitzgerald, more commonly known as Fitz.

Fitz is a bearded dragon, which is a reptile. He is cold blooded which means his body temperature adapts to the temperature around him. Since he needs to stay warm, we keep him under a heat lamp when he’s in his habitat. He enjoys eating mealworms and sleeping a lot.
