Homework 3/5/2018
Math: Students need to cut and glue their toppings onto their pizza. This needs to be done today for homework. We will use the pizza to create a fraction menu and fraction pizza analysis.
Science: Students need to answer all questions from their science centers. They have gone to 4 centers. They will finish the last one tomorrow. Students will NOT be given extra time to finish. All Science notebooks will be collected after Science centers tomorrow 3/5/2018.
Spelling: Choose 5 words to write in a sentence. Your sentence must show that you understand what the word means.
Example: The earthquake was very destructive, it ruined many homes.
Not an Example: I am a destructive.

Math: Pages 241 and 242 in the Common core coach.
Reading: read pages 137 and 138. Answer the constructed response on pg.139.

Math: Page 240 comparing fractions with unlike denominators. You can use the video below to guide you if needed.
Spelling: ABC order and Segmenting the words into parts( you can make it colorful if you’d like)
Reading: Read a book of your choice. You can also log into readworks and read your assigned passages. Make sure you are reading every night!

In chapter 4 Arthur tries to convince Julio to run for class president. Why did Arthur make that decision? How do you know (evidence)?
Spelling: place value spelling if you did not finish during Daily 5.

Writing: Finish writing your opinion essay with an introduction, body and conclusion. You introduction should have a hook, claim. You body must have 3 reasons with a real life example. Most importantly your conclusion must have a snappy ending and restate your claim in a different way.
Spelling: Choose 5 words and write them in a sentence.

2/16/2018 Homework for the break
Students have to finish reading the book Class President. Each chapter has a reflection/or activity they fill out during reading. Your child must finish the assignment by Monday. No exceptions and late assignments will be marked down. ENJOY THE BREAK!!!!
Don’t forget to bring a shoe box and pictures for your writing project.

Science: Read the passage titled land forms. There are 4 sections in this passage. Your child needs to PARAPHRASE each section in their own words. We did section one in class. Sections 2,3 and 4 are homework. Please make sure your child is not copying the text.
Spelling: Practice you have a test tomorrow.
Writing Project: Students created a story that rolls out. Students needs a shoe box for the project. Please have your child bring a shoe box by tomorrow. I do not have extras.

Reading: Read a book of your choice. Students just checked out 2 new books. Students should read at least 45 minutes. For the writing entry write about your favorite part. Elaborate and tell me why this was your favorite part.
Spelling: Study your spelling words using the look, say, cover, spell , check activity.
