Here is an outline of today’s assignments (Wednesday, May 27th):

● SPELLING:  Interactive activity.  Click the link to review Digraphs, th, sh, ch, and wh –  https://boom.cards/fastplay/fzbr

● READING:  Listen to the story, “Hello Ocean,” https://youtu.be/NMbN3INUqyg

Discuss: What words does the author use to describe how the ocean LOOKS and SOUNDS?  Do the illustrations in the story match the words she chose? (Figurative Language)

⭐️ Reading bag books + sight words 📖

● WRITING:  Make a paper book and write your own “Beach Day” story!  Leave the cover page blank, for now.  Turn to page. 1.

On pg. 1 of your beach book, draw pictures of people or things you would want to SEE on your perfect day at the beach (refer back to your 5 senses chart if you need inspiration!).  After drawing, use your illustrations to help guide you in writing the first part of your “Beach Day” story.  Use sentences to describe what you are doing at the beach.

Last, think about what you might HEAR from the people or things that you drew at the beach.  Add speech bubbles or captions to show how the sense of SOUND could be used in your story!

● MATH:  Lesson 16 (Module 5).  Watch the video, https://safeYouTube.net/w/w9yH.  Complete the Problem Set (p. 127 – see attached PDF) and Homework (p. 237, 239, 240).

● SCIENCE:  None.

● SOCIAL STUDIES:  Watch the informational video, “Know Your Globe,” https://youtu.be/x7k7CeWDtWs.  After watching the video, use what you learned to label your own globe + map (see PDF file, attached).  Print the activity sheet or try your best to draw/label either a globe OR a map (your choice!) on a blank sheet of paper.
